Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin Cover the Knack on Seventh Night of Hanukkah

Another night of Hanukkah, another cover of a Jewish artist from Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters producer Greg Kurstin. On the seventh night of the festival of lights, the duo covered the Knack’s “Frustrated” as the latest installment of their Hanukkah Sessions. “Tonight we’re featuring 4 nice Jewish boys whose biggest hit was a song about a nice Jewish girl… “My Shalom-a” or something like that… We’re huge fans of New Wave (as well as the “old wave” that came after Moses parted the Red Sea) so we are psyched to present…The Knack!” a statement from the duo said. Watch it below. [embedded content] The cover follows renditions of Elastica’s “Connection,” Bob Dylan’s “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35,” Peaches’ “Fuck the Pain Away,” Mountain’s “Mississippi Quee...

Source: Franco Origlia / Getty The late, great Whitney Houston still remains as one of the most iconic voices in modern music, and the highs and lows of her career still stir the hearts of fans worldwide. In an upcoming biopic supported by the family and the singer’s former label chief in Clive Davis, British actress Naomi Ackie will play the superstar vocalist. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reports that Ackie, 28, will star as Houston in the film I Wanna Dance WIth Somebody. Although the film reportedly won’t see a release until the fall of 2022, the biopic’s director Stella Meghie appears thrilled at the chance to tell Houston’s story for generations to come. CupCakKe Comes For Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez & Others On Her Version To “How To Rob”

Source: Scott Dudelson / Getty Well, it worked for 50 Cent… kinda. 21 years after Fiddy dropped his ear-catching comedic record “How To Rob,” CupCakKe’s decided to rip a page out of Fif’s pre-Shady Records playbook and dropped a record imagining herself pulling juxes on some of today’s top artists. “I’ma run up on Amigos, shoot ’em like a freethrow, n*gga i’m so unbothered/drop Offset body in a jungle since he wanna be a cheater, forgive me Lord Father,” CupCakKe says at one point. Well, we wonder how Cardi B might feel about that line right there. While she has some pretty pointed lines aimed at the like of Tory Lanez, Lizzo, and Megan Thee Stallion, CupCakKe insists she has no beef to cook with anyone mentioned on the cut and “it’s all love.” I think it’s a beautiful thing & an...

HHW Gaming: ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’ Season 1 Is Live, Here Is What To Expect

Source: Activision / Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s first massive update has arrived, and it’s a doozy. Here is what you can expect after the update is complete. Our biggest complaint was the multiplayer’s lack of maps in our review of the latest installment in the famed Call of Duty franchise. In Battle Pass Season 1, that issued is finally addressed in a big way with the addition of new 6v6 maps like The Pines, which will have you battling out in a 1980s New Jersey mall, The Raid from Black Ops II, and Nuketown’84 Holiday which gets a festive makeover. There will also be new weapons players can get just by playing the game. The season 1 patch will see the arrival of the Mac-10, a compact SMG with a high rate of fire and can be unlocked by re...

HBO Max Finally Arriving on Roku This Week

Over 200 days after it was launched, HBO Max is finally set to arrive on the popular Roku platform. HBO Max has some great programming, but its first year of existence has been nothing if not messy. Beyond the confusion of what the heck HBO Max is versus HBO Go/Now, there’s been the varied availability on TV platforms. It only just arrived on Amazon Fire last month, then earlier this week snuck onto Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Flex, followed closely by PlayStation 5. This left Roku out in the cold as the last remaining platform on which users didn’t have HBO Max access. And PS5 wasn’t even on the market when WarnerMedia’s streaming service arrived, adding insult to injury. Now, however, Roku and Warner have finally announced they’ve come to terms and will launch HBO Max on the Roku channel stor...

Atlantic City Auctioning Off the Rights to Blow Up Trump’s Casino

If you’ve ever fantasized about doing to a building what Donald Trump did to the country, now’s your chance. Via NBC 10 Philadelphia, Atlantic City is auctioning off the rights to blow up the derelict Trump Plaza casino, with proceeds benefitting the local Boys & Girls Club. The casino first opened in 1984 and shuttered for good in 2014. A mere six years later, that fabled Trump craftsmanship has held up about as well as you’d expect. Earlier this year, huge chunks of the facade fell off and tumbled to the ground below, and the building reportedly sheds additional debris during bad storms. Since it’s a safety hazard, demolition has already begun. But the official implosion is scheduled for January 29th, and if you’ve got deep pockets that you’re willing to empty, you cou...

Once-Relevant Actor Kirk Cameron Holds Large Caroling Event in the Middle of the Pandemic

You might remember Kirk Cameron from his role in the TV series Growing Pains, the movie Like Father Like Son, or any of the cringey Christian dramas he made throughout the 2000s. But in 2020, the 50-year-old Evangelical Christian has pivoted from acting to anti-masking. On December 7th and December 13th, Cameron hosted gatherings of hundreds of people at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, California to sing Christmas carols and commiserate in close quarters. In a video of the second event that Cameron posted to his Instagram with the caption “Joy over Fear” — a pointed rebuke of social distancing restrictions — very few attendees are seen wearing masks and almost everyone is singing in unison, mouth germs abound. That same day, Ventura County (the location of the gathering) reported...

Creed Singer Scott Stapp to Play Frank Sinatra in Ronald Reagan Biopic

Scott Stapp (via “My Sacrifice” video), Frank Sinatra (via Nothing But the Best album cover) We’ve been inundated with some unforeseeable headlines in 2020, and here’s one more before the year ends: Creed singer Scott Stapp is playing Frank Sinatra in an upcoming biopic on Ronald Reagan. Yes, the rock vocalist is portraying the legendary crooner in the movie Reagan, starring Dennis Quaid as the 40th president of the United States. Stapp already filmed the role, telling Billboard, “Sinatra in performance mode was an exercise in restraint. He had this steely, stylish swagger and his sheer presence commanded a room. I was excited to join the cast and blown away by the on-set attention to detail, style, and overall production.” His performance as Sinatra comes during a scene in whi...

Announced Wednesday (December 16), the film will be produced by Dee Rees (Mudbound, Pariah) and directed by Lisa Cortés (The Apollo). It will be created by Bungalow Entertainment in partnership with Rolling Stone, which will open its archival reportage on the trailblazing icon, as well as interviews with those who knew him. Richard’s friends and family are reportedly consulting o...

Flying Lotus‘ “Black Balloons Reprise” with Denzel Curry was a standout on his 2019 album Flamagra. Now, fans can revel in a new version floating around the web that features a stunning, previously unheard verse from the late Mac Miller.  The track began circulating when users logged into Grand Theft Auto V today and downloaded the Cayo Perico Heist update. Miller’s signature languid flow is a natural fit and feels like it was always meant to be alongside the chaotic charm of Curry.   Back in July, Flying Lotus and Denzel Curry hosted a remix challenge for the single dubbed the #BLACK...
