Daz Dillinger & Capone ft. N.O.R.E. & Kurupt “Guidelines” & More | Daily Visuals 12.14.20

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Back when Snoop Dogg and the Dogg Pound dropped their surprise attack on the East Coast in “New York New York,” Capone-N-Noreaga linked up with Mobb Deep and clapped back with “LA, LA.” Now more than two decades later the two crews connected to show and prove the East Coast vs. West Coast drama is water under the bridge. In the visuals to “Guidelines,” Capone-N-Noreaga made their way out Greater Los Angeles to kick it with Daz Dillinger and Kurupt of the DPG and getting in some California love and chronic to boot. Keeping with OG’s of the game, Billy Danze of M.O.P. continues to prove that after years in the game, he’s still got some of the hardest bars ever heard in his clip to “Cyrus.” Check out the rest of today’s drops and some joints you might’ve missed ov...

Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin Cover Bob Dylan’s ‘Rainy Day Women #12 & 35′ for Fifth Night of Hanukkah

Another night of Hanukkah, another cover of a Jewish artist from Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters producer Greg Kurstin. On the fifth night of the festival of lights, the duo covered Bob Dylan’s 1966 song “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35″ as the latest installment of their Hanukkah Sessions. “So now everybody must get stoned (not in the Law of Moses sense) as we put some blood on this track: Rainy Day Women 12&35 by the immortal Bob Dylan!” they said of the song. Watch it below. [embedded content] The cover follows renditions of Peaches’ “Fuck the Pain Away,” Mountain’s “Mississippi Queen,” Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” and the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage.” On Wednesday night, Grohl and Kurstin announced they’d be launching Hanukkah Sessions instead of ...

Watch How to Make a Song Fit for Cyberpunk 2077

Chances are if you’ve been on the internet in the past week, you’ve been bombarded with talk about Cyberpunk 2077. Not only was it one of the most anticipated video game releases of all-time, but to the delight of EDM.com readers, it also leans heavily on electronic music culture. Considering the game’s futuristic setting, it just makes sense to include the sounds of Grimes, Nina Kraviz, Boys Noize, and more. For the music producers out there, the popular sample marketplace Splice has released a cheeky how-to video inspired by the game. The tutorial is styled like the setting of the action RPG and was developed so the viewer feels as if they are being taught by one of its characters. Using the samples provided in the description of the video by Splice, those wit...

LAMB OF GOD’s RANDY BLYTHE On Life In Quarantine: ‘It Hasn’t Been That Hard Coping Not Being On Tour’

During a December 5-6 Headbangers Con live virtual panel, LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe was asked by Jam Man how he has been coping with the coronavirus pandemic and what it has been like not being able to tour for most of 2020. He said (see video below): “For me, I’ve gotta be honest, my band has a large fanbase, and I’m not a bazillionaire or anything, but I save my money. So I’m not really tripping on financials. What I think about more during this time is all the people in the younger bands, and the people who are at the independent venues, and the small promoters, and the crew guys. I’ve done a few charity things for different organizations that raise money for different road crews. “I had friends who were in Europe getting ready to start their ...

Ex-W.A.S.P. Guitarist CHRIS HOLMES Looks Back At His Earliest Bands In ‘Mean Man’ Preview Clip

The documentary film “Mean Man: The Story Of Chris Holmes” will be made available on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD on January 15. A new preview clip in which Chris Holmes and some of his childhood friends look back at his earliest bands can be seen below. Written and directed by French filmmakers Antoine De Montremy and Laurent Hart (whose music production career includes televised interviews with SCORPIONS, DEEP PURPLE, SLAYER, GUNS N’ ROSES and more), “Mean Man: The Story Of Chris Holmes” was a project that was born in 2014 after they had an opportunity to meet and direct Holmes in a music video for the Holmes-penned song “Let It Roar” in Cannes, France. At that time, the former W.A.S.P. guitarist had more or less disappeared from the music scene, leaving...

ATREYU’s BRANDON SALLER Hopes Time Will ‘Heal’ Rift With Former Singer ALEX VARKATZAS

In October, California metallers ATREYU surprise-released a new song called “Save Us”. It was the first taste of the band’s music since the departure of vocalist Alex Varkatzas a month earlier. ATREYU‘s current lineup features drummer Brandon Saller focusing completely on singing after previously sharing lead vocals with Varkatzas for most of the band’s two-decade-plus existence. Sitting behind the kit is Saller‘s HELL OR HIGHWATER bandmate Kyle Rosa, who had filled in for Saller on drums last year after Varkatzas bowed out of the band’s European tour while dealing with serious back and hernia issues. Asked in a recent interview with “Sappenin’ Podcast With Sean Smith” if the band is still on speaking terms with Varkatzas, Saller ...

SMASHING PUMPKINS’ BILLY CORGAN Says ‘It’s Hard To Watch The Divisiveness’ In America

SMASHING PUMPKINS frontman Billy Corgan spoke to Australia’s Triple M radio station about how today’s divisive political climate could shape the new sound of protest music in the coming years. He said (see video below): “I’m curious about that, because the one thing that I think is historically different about this time, if you look at the turbulent ’60s or the turbulent ’70s in the U.K., stuff like that, there seems to be almost a consensus between the musical class and the political class, so there doesn’t seem to be friction. I mean, there’s friction against one political party, but there doesn’t really seem to be a counterculture, which is kind of strange. “Like they said in the last election — this is not my words; this is wh...

Ticketmaster’s Arbitration Policy Again Enforced in Dispute Over Pandemic Refunds

Ticketmaster filed a motion to compel arbitration. It argued that Hansen, like anyone else who buys concert tickets through its site, agreed to its terms of use which contains an arbitration agreement. In September, both Ticketmaster and StubHub prevailed on similar motions in disputes brought by baseball fans. There, U.S. District Judge Dale Fischer found that the click-through agreements users interact with while signing into the site and buying tickets are sufficient to provide notice of the policy and constitute mutual assent to an arbitration agreement. That’s one of the arguments Hansen made here; he didn’t read the terms of use and was unaware it included an arbitration provision and therefore he couldn’t have assented. U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen isn’...
