Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin have unveiled the fourth installment in their Hanukkah covers song series. After tackling Drake’s “Hotline Bling” earlier in the campaign, the pair turn their focus to another prominent Canadian Jew with Peaches’ “Fuck the Pain Away”. Better yet, Peaches herself joins in on the fun and sings along with Grohl starting mid-way through their performance. Watch it below. In a tweet posted to Foo Fighters’ Twitter account, Grohl and Kurstin wrote, “Drake’s not the only musical Jew from Canada…tonight we feature a Canadian rock G-Dess…who coincidentally grew up around the corner from a Canadian Jewish rock G-D (G-ddy Lee). Straight out the mikvah, here.” Grohl and Kurstin, who helmed Foo Fighters’ 2017 album Concrete and Gold, are celebrating Hanuk...
Snoop Dogg (photo by Philip Cosores) and Cadi B and Megan Thee Stallion in “WAP” video Snoop Dogg, who wrote “Your Sexy Sex”, “Sexual Eruption”, and who began his album Doggystyle with a sketch about bathtub coitus, thinks that “WAP” is too sexy. The Doggfafther weighed in on Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s No. 1 hit in an interview on the newsmag program Central Ave. Addressing the female rappers, Snoop said, “Slow down and let’s have some imagination.” The MC who also once rapped, “she will get G’d if she don’t suck dick,” added of their vaginas, “That’s like your pride and possession. That’s your jewel of your crown. That’s what you should hold on to, that should be a possession that no one gets to know about until they know about it.” To his credit, Mr. Dog...
It’s November 5th, two days after Election Night 2020, and Steve McQueen and I look no worse for wear. Even through the Zoom screen, yet another way the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way film journalists do business, we understand that other, urgently important things are going on. It’s the middle of a hellish week where the world would collectively gnaw on its fingernails hoping for someone, anyone, to declare the next president of the United States. (Besides the guy trying to steal it, of course.) But even amid the strain and trauma of that week, just one of 52 that would offer no small amount of pain to everyone this year, there was still cause for celebration. While theaters are closed and the fate of mainstream moviemaking lies in a precarious limbo, McQueen’s latest works — the f...

For years, Rocket League has been one of the most EDM-friendly games out there. With the second season of their recently relaunched Rocket Pass program, they went full-throttle and based the four-month event on all things dance music. The electronic extravaganza comes just days after the release of Kaskade‘s Monstercat debut, “Flip Reset,” which serves as the theme song for the new season of Rocket League. On YouTube, a trailer for the new pass was shared. For those unfamiliar with the game, Rocket Pass is a program players can sign up for that gives them access to over 70 levels of unlockable content. While none of the content offers a competitive advantage to those who signed up, it provides cosmetic items otherwise unobtainable through regular gameplay. Some of t...

After more than a year of anticipation, this week’s release of Cyberpunk 2077 from video game developer CD Projekt has been one of the hottest topics in the dance music world. During a December 5-6 Headbangers Con live virtual panel, HELLYEAH frontman Chad Gray was asked if the band will keep going once the pandemic has subsided. He responded (see video below): “Everybody’s just in a holding pattern right now. I don’t have any new music. I’ve been telling Tom [Maxwell, HELLYEAH guitarist] to get me some riffs so I can write, because right now is a great time to fucking write. So we’ll just have to see, man. Obviously, we need to get together and write some music. But, yeah, I mean, hopefully. It’s all fucked up right now, nobody knows what’s going on with anything.” Three months ago, Maxwell told the “The Ex-Man” podcast that he wasn’t sure there would be a follow-up album to HELLYEAH‘s late...
In a new interview with Metal Talk, ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann was asked if he would ever consider having old and current bandmembers onstage at the same time, like Alice Cooper did a few years ago. He responded: “It has never come up yet, so until it does, I don’t know what to think of it. But you never say never. “It is weird, you know. When someone leaves the band, you tend to never see them again. There is never any run-ins during festivals because, I don’t know… it hardly ever happens. There was one time, though, we met [original ACCEPT singer] Udo [Dirkschneider] at a festival. We were performing, and it was maybe in 2011. It was bizarre, because I went over to hug Udo, to say, ‘Hey, let’s let bygones be bygones. Nice to see you,’ that ki...

Unlike the previous covers, the featured artist, in this case, Peaches, made an appearance. “Drake’s not the only musical Jew from Canada…tonight we feature a Canadian rock G-Dess…who coincidentally grew up around the corner from a Canadian Jewish rock G-D (G-ddy Lee). Straight out the mikvah, here’s Peaches!” a statement read. Watch it below.
