Nigerian superstars, Wizkid and Burna Boy, dominated the night at the just concluded Mobo Awards 2020. Wizkid bagged the Best African Act while Burna Boy received the Best International Act. Newsmen report that the awards stopped but later came back after a three-year hiatus as organizers announced on November 24 the nominations for the 2020 Music of Black Origin Awards. Also, Nigerian musicians, Wizkid, Burna Boy Davido, Rema, Fireboy, Adekunle Gold, and Tiwa Savage also got nods at the event. On behalf of Chris Cornell’s estate, the late rocker’s wife Vicky Cornell and her children, Toni and Christopher, have released a new album of cover songs recorded by Cornell. It’s called No One Sings Like You Anymore and it’s available to stream right now via Apple Music and Spotify below. No One Sings Like You Anymore is a collection of 10 cover songs handpicked by Cornell himself. The Soundgarden singer recorded and sequenced the tracks back in 2016 as a way to honor the artists who inspired him, such as John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Harry Nilsson, and Electric Light Orchestra. Thom Yorke has teamed up with Burial and Four Tet for a new limited-edition 12-inch single. The black vinyl contains two tracks — “Her Revolution” and “His Rope” — and went for sale Tuesday (December 2nd) at London record stores Phonica and Sounds of the Universe. News of the surprise release was first revealed by the record stores on their respective social media channels, and subsequently confirmed by Yorke via a retweet. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood have chosen BMG to collect the royalties due when their recordings are played on TV and radio around the world, so-called neighboring rights. BMG will also continue to represent Jagger and Richards‘s music publishing interests. The deal to represent the four members of THE ROLLING STONES comes just six months after BMG announced the launch of its boutique neighboring rights service. It coincides with a new extension of BMG‘s long-term deal to represent the music publishing rights of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
