Big Worm aka Faizon Love Says Jay-Z Faked His Drug Dealer History, Calls Him A Puppet

Source: Craig Sjodin / Getty It seems Faizon Love’s newest target is none other than Jay-Z. Big Worm is now questioning Hov’s illicit 560 State Street days. The actor recently sat down with Rap’s most dangerous interviewer DJ Vlad. While the two discussed a variety of topics throughout the lengthy sit-down, one portion of Q&A has the people talking. During the conversation he criticized how the Brooklyn MC’s music persona negatively influenced his young listeners. He even directly blamed him for all of the recent violence that has taken the lives of several rappers in the recent months. “I criticize him for it because it’s kinda his fault,” he said. “Jay-Z creates this drug dealing drug lord, I’m a drug dealer, I’m a drug lord. These kids are like, ‘We got to do it, too.’ Not knowing t...

True Blood to Come Back Out of the Coffin with New HBO Reboot

HBO is ready for another bite of True Blood. As Variety and The Hollywood Reporter note, a reboot of the sexy vampire drama is in the early stages of development. True Blood premiered in 2008 and ran for seven seasons. Adapted by Alan Ball, and based on the novels of The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris, it was set two years after the invention of Tru Blood, a synthetic substitute that allowed vampires to integrate into human society. The series centered on Sookie Stackhouse (Ana Paquin), a telepathic human waitress who fell in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Within the world of the show, many other creatures went bump in the night, including witches, werewolves, and bible-thumping evangelicals. To help along the reboot,...

Patti Smith Announces Birthday Livestream Performance

For years, Patti Smith has celebrated her birthday by playing an intimate gig with friends in New York. Thankfully, the punk rock pioneer is carrying on the tradition this year — albeit in the form of a livestream. On December 30th, Smith will perform with her band for the first time in 2020. Their show will be streamed by Veeps, which Smith recently used to broadcast a solo set of hers on Black Friday. “I just thought it would be nice to uphold that tradition in a certain way because it’s always a joyful moment,” Smith said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “I love birthdays because we’re born and life is the greatest thing we have, I just thought it would be a nice thing to share with everybody.” Smith sees the one-off show as something of a makeup for the world tour she...

Titled excuse me, i love you, it will be available to stream in just a few weeks on December 21st — exactly one year after the tour closed out. “I know this project only captures some of one tour (out of all the other hundreds of shows and moments we have shared over the past six or seven years… jesus lol) but I just wanted to thank u all for showing me more in this lifetime already than I ever dreamed of,” the 27-year-old pop star wrote on social media today. Label Look: Hopeless Records On 20 Years of Giving Back

The venture grew out of Posen’s desire to, in his words, “do more than make bands rich and famous” — an undertaking that feels prescient in light of today’s developments, when seemingly every major music company (particularly in the wake of this summer’s Black Lives Matter protests) now makes a point of touting its social action initiatives. But Hopeless stands as one of the earliest labels, major or independent, to make giving back not just a side project but a core part of its mission. Running a record label was never a part of the plan for Posen, who as a film student at California State University, Northridge had his mind set on becoming a director. But that dream circuitously led him to establish Hopeless after the punk band Guttermouth — who had hired him to direct a musi...

Five Burning Questions: Bad Bunny Makes History With His No. 1 Album Debut

1. Bad Bunny’s El Último Tour del Mundo has become the first all-Spanish album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200. On a scale of 1-10, how significant is that specific accomplishment? Andrew Unterberger: Let’s say a 7.5. The accomplishment itself is of course major, but it’s hard to rate it as an eight or higher because it’s not even a real new peak for Bad Bunny, let alone all of Latin pop — his YHLQMDLG album actually put up much better first-week numbers (179,000 equivalent album units to 116,000 for El Último), but just had the misfortune of debuting the same week that Lil Baby’s My Turn juggernaut bowed at No. 1. It’s one for the record books, no doubt, but it just shows how major Latin pop in general, and Bad Bunny in particular, ha...

AC/DC Travel Down the Dark Path in ‘Demon Fire’ Video

AC/DC knows a thing or two about the dark side. The band that brought you “Highway to Hell” took a trip down that fiery road in their new video for “Demon Fire.” The clip debuted on the video game Fortnite in its Nexus War Event. As you can see below, a muscle car journeys down a dark highway to…hell and ends up having to fend off bikers and cops in the process. [embedded content] Power Up was released on Nov. 13 and went No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in its first week — becoming the second rock album this year to top the charts following Machine Gun Kelly’s Tickets to My Downfall in September. It was the Australian rockers’ third No. 1 album. Previously, AC/DC shared a video for “Shot in the Dark.” We spoke with the band’s Brian Johnson and Angus Young ahea...

Slushii Teases New Remix of BTS’ Hit Single “Dynamite”

Last year fans of both Slushii and BTS were in full anticipation mode after the former teased he was working on a new remix for the beloved pop group. Sadly, his “Make It Right” remix never came to fruition, but that’s not stopping him from making it right with BTS’ fans. The producer took to social media yesterday to share a sneak peek into an unreleased remix of the group’s hit single “Dynamite.” From the short clip below, you can tell Slushii’s remix is going to be big. Slushii previously served up a remix of “Waste It On Me,” BTS’ collaborative hit with Steve Aoki. The group also dropped an EDM remix of their own for the single “Dynamite” alongside an acoustic version t...
