Today (Dec. 7), it was announced that “breaking” will be included as part of the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. That’s still almost four years away, but we’ll take it. “We have had a clear priority and this is to introduce sports which are particularly popular among the younger generations. And also to take into account the urbanization of sport,” said International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach after today’s executive board, per USA Today. Breaking actually made its Olympic debut a couple of years ago in Buenos Aires at the 2018 Summer Youth Games. While this certainly is a cause for celebration, there are those in the breaking communi...

As you may know, Elon Musk and his team of engineers at The Boring Company are building underground transportation tunnels in an effort to help speed up local and national travel. While this may lead to a faster way for dance music fans to get to shows across the country, it’s what the company recently shared on their Twitter page that should really excite them. Described as a “tunnel rave,” the new video posted by The Boring Company shows off the interior of the tunnel with pulsating, rainbow lights overhead. As heard in the clip, the “rave” is soundtracked by Avicii‘s iconic dance anthem “Levels.” This seems appropriate for the Tesla CEO after he released a dance track of his own back in February 2020. This news is also simil...
Back in July, Bob Moses teamed up with ZHU for the release of their dark, minimal track “Desire.” This atmosphere was expanded over the weekend when Charlotte de Witte added some of her haunting techno flair to the tune. de Witte’s pounding drums are instantly recognizable and while she certainly raises the tempo from the original, she does well to maintain its eerie tone. In addition to cranking up the drums, the synths from the trio are emphasized in her remix with the addition of an acid-infused, wobbly bassline. Check out the new remix below. de Witte’s “Desire” remix is packaged with an animated music video. Fans might remember the original track’s visual accompaniment, which features red and blue characters falling through a futuri...

Turns out the sci-fi action hero we grew up on is actually a cat who loves EDM, at least according to the Academy Award-winning director Taika Waititi. Microsoft recruited the help of the renowned New Zealand cinephile for a new trailer dedicated to the recent release of their new video game console, the Xbox Series X. The three-and-a-half-minute long story shows a team of researchers enter a woman’s dreams after she plays with the new Xbox. As you would imagine, they become increasingly bizarre, showing off animated characters in the forest, free-falling, and more while she narrates what she sees in her sleep. The video concludes with the main character from the Halo series, Master Chief, begin to DJ with the use of one of the giant space structures from the game as a tur...
AEROSMITH‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry made an appearance during Josh Gad‘s “Wayne’s World” reunion, which premiered earlier today (Monday, December 7) as part of the actor’s YouTube series. The rockers’ appearance began with a comedy bit where Gad pretended that he was calling Perry and Tyler to ask for the phone numbers of Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, who played Wayne and Garth in the film. “You brought us — two world-famous rock stars — on your show to get in touch with two people we casually know?” a mock-outraged Tyler wondered. Gad, best-known as the voice of Olaf the snowman in “Frozen”, has been hosting virtual reunions for classic films across lockdown on his “Reunited Apart” series, previously bringing t...

Michael Sweet, singer, guitarist and primary songwriter of the openly Christian hard rock band STRYPER, says that he is planning to record an album of woship music. The 57-year-old musician revealed his interest in writing a collection of songs that are generally thought to be too theologically specific for the mainstream market in an Instagram post earlier today (Monday, December 7). He wrote: “Something I’ve always wanted to do is to record a worship album. I led worship at my home church for a few years a while back and it was one of the most gratifying moments of my musical history. It strengthened my own faith and brought me closer to God. I’m definitely planning on recording one and I hope you all will join me on this journey. It will be my first ‘officialR...
In a recent interview with SPIN, Wolfgang Van Halen was asked if there was a moment that particularly stood out to him from VAN HALEN‘s last tour, which concluded in October 2015 at the the Hollywood Bowl. He responded: “I got a really funny story about that. Nobody’s asked me about this before, so I’m glad you did. I’ll set it up for you. Throughout the whole tour, Dave [VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth] had an issue whenever someone in the audience had a beach ball. Outdoor theater, summer concert, Southern California party rock, VAN HALEN — it’s not out of the ordinary. But every time he saw them, it would really upset him for some reason. And he would stop singing and then stand at the front of the stage and say, ‘Throw the beach ball up here, t...
During a recent appearance on comedian Russell Brand’s podcast, Matthew McConaughey explained his “aggressively centrist” political views while taking both the left and right to task. McConaughey has been espousing a burgeoning political interest recently, even going so far as to mull over the idea of running for Governor of Texas. However, the actor sees politics as a “broken business” split too adamantly along divisive lines. On his Under the Skin podcast, Brand asked McConaughey about the “judgement” and values of the left-right divide, specifically noting the “condemnation and criticism” of “ordinary working people” who voted for Brexit or Trump. The actor responded that “the two vehicles on either side of the political aisle are so far apart, their fucking tires aren’t even on the pav...
