Former SEPULTURA drummer Igor Cavalera has launched a new video series, “Beneath The Drums”, on his YouTube channel, where he dissects some of the best-known songs from his recording history. In the first episode, which can be seen below, he gives the backstory of the SEPULTURA song “Territory” and also performs a playthrough video of the track, originally taken from the band’s 1993 album “Chaos A.D.” Igor left SEPULTURA in June 2006 due to “artistic differences.” His departure from the band came five months after he announced that he was taking a break from SEPULTURA‘s touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their son (who was born in January 2006). In 1996, Igor‘s brother, frontman Max Cavalera, exited SE...

Taking on remix duties for a song as big as Above & Beyond‘s “Thing Called Love” is a daunting task, but Oliver Heldens has pulled it off. The Dutch superstar recently announced an official remix of the iconic trance track featuring Richard Bedford, which will arrive this Friday, January 8th by way of Anjunabeats. The remix is a bit different from what Heldens’ fans are used to. The future house sage opted for more of a trance feel, producing soaring synths and a chugging bassline in what sounds like a riveting rework of the 2011 Group Therapy classic. “It’s a bit different than what you’d expect from me I guess, but I wanted to keep the Trancy vibe of the original alive in this new remix,” Heldens wrote in an announcement sh...

Club Space in Miami is one such venue. With the help of Bar Lab—and with social distancing and safety measures in mind—the fabled club has announced the launch of its new open-air venue endeavor, Space Park. In the Magic City Innovation District, Space Park’s events debuted on New Year’s Eve with Artbat and Rony Seikaly. As with all the events planned for the outdoor venue, Club Space sorted out the booking, with Bar Lab spearheading the beverage offerings. “The opportunity of doing an open-air venue ...

What follows is an 18-track cycle of riveting, vocal-driven bass music that lends to a euphoric journey through the uplifting avenues of EDM. Standouts from Dawn: Vol. 2 are a...
Editor’s Note: We continue our celebration of the life and art of David Bowie with an exclusive new tribute from Trent Reznor. Keep checking back all week for more content reflecting on our favorite Starman. And, if you’ve missed anything, you can experience it all again here. David Bowie’s impact on fans and musicians transcended definitions of genre, illustrated by the iconic rock chameleon’s influence on industrial heavyweight Trent Reznor. As the Nine Inch Nails mastermind tells Consequence of Sound, having Bowie as both role model and friend helped him through some very dark times. Nine Inch Nails had the honor of opening for Bowie on “The Outside Tour” in 1995, which saw Reznor and company remaining onstage to perform a handful of songs with Bowie at the beginning of the latter’s hea...
