She went on to note that she started No Doubt with her brother Eric, so she “knows the family thing as well,” and casually mentioned her Country Airplay No. 1 to appease the country group. But Stefani wasn’t done. She took aim at her now-fiancé Shelton, who she claimed was “burnt out” after 19 seasons on the show and even pulled up a video message from legendary country star Trace Adkins to prove her “support from the country community.” Shelton was ready to take the heat, though. “I have one spot left on my team, and I’ve been sitting her waiting for what that’s going to be,” he started, before cheekily adding, “It’s been worth the wait, right?” Despite Stefani’s best efforts, Worth the Wait chose Sh...

MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has released behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the official Nick Peterson-directed music video for “Caviar On A Paper Plate”, the latest single from his new solo album, “Andro”. The track features a guest appearance by Mickey Avalon. “The video’s ridiculous,” Tommy told Kare11.com. “It’s fun.” The theme of “Andro” is the male and female sides of music, equal in power and status. Androgyny is a combination of the essences of male and female genders and the album is the manifestation of the concept. “It is a culmination of a bunch of different flavors that I love,” Lee told Kare11.com. “There’s some super heavy stuff on it that people would typically think ...
A new video message from IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson in which he discusses the band’s upcoming double live album, “Nights Of The Dead, Legacy Of The Beast: Live In Mexico City”, can be seen below. “I’m really excited,” Bruce said. “I was at the mix with Steve [Harris, MAIDEN bassist] and had a listen to some of the tracks. Brilliant. ‘Sign Of The Cross’ — oh, yeah! Nicko‘s [McBrain] drumming on it is nothing short of earth-shaking. I mean, solid, solid, solid. Really, really, really good. I was blown away. ‘For The Greater Good Of God’ — nobody has ever heard that on a [live] MAIDEN album before. It’s a great thing. “In this mad world at the moment, the best we can do is give you some new live MAIDEN...

Vedder kept the music going all throughout the morning, playing parts of “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town”, which Eddie recalled writing while Stone Gossard watched on and sipped coffee. He also strummed a bit from “Sometimes̶...

And since then, it’s, ‘Oh, this festival is postponed,’ ‘That gig is postponed.’ Well, what happened is, because we were scheduled alread...

A new blog post published by Spotify revealed that creators will now have the ability to boost their visibility in the platform’s radio and autoplay algorithms. The post, which was shared on the streaming giant’s website, detailed the “new experiment.” In this new experiment, artists and labels can identify music that’s a priority for them, and our system will add that signal to the algorithm that determines personalized listening sessions. This allows our algorithms to account for what’s important to the artist—perhaps a song they’re particularly excited about, an album anniversary they’re celebrating, a viral cultural moment they’re experiencing, or other factors they care about. As reported by FADER, Spotify will not require any upfront payment, b...
At only 20 years old, Taylor Upsahl (known professionally as UPSAHL) has made female empowerment and being unapologetic her personal brand. Bold and brash, she holds nothing back. Her songs exude both dark and sexual vibes, with lyrics about having sex on her mind, only attending a party for the drugs, and all the people she doesn’t like. This type of free expression is more associated with male artists (and more accepted by the industry) — but UPSAHL is breaking down those stereotypes “I feel especially now in music, women are starting to own their shit a lot more and be a bit more unapologetic and do whatever the fuck they want,” she says when we speak after her newest single “MoneyOnMyMind” just came out. “I mean, the #1 song in the world is called ‘Wet Ass Pussy” — we’re just owning it...
There was a time when being Public Enemy #1 was the biggest part of Chuck D’s identity. In 1985, the frustrated college student turned rapper emerged from a hotbed of racial tension in Long Island to kick open doors for a burgeoning street culture that did not yet know its own power. Being young, gifted and Black put a torch in Chuck’s hand and a target on his back. Together with his cartoonish hype man Flavor Flav, he started a group that detonated a bomb of black nationalism into the heart of hip-hop culture at the ripe old age of 25. After nearly four decades and 15 albums later, the passion of that young, fire-breathing wordsmith still dwells inside the Golden Era emcee even at age 60 — albeit older, wiser and more subdued. Sitting in front of a computer screen flanked by a wall ...
