America’s most perplexing fast food phenomenon has returned: For the first time in eight years, the McDonald’s McRib sandwich will be available nationwide beginning December 2nd. The McRib first appeared in 1982, and has achieved a cult following based as much on its limited availability as its (extremely dubious) taste. It was last widely attainable in 2012, but as the most McRabid McRib fans know, the sandwich actually comes out every year. But it’s purposefully difficult to find, and the Golden Arches have even rolled out a McRib locator app to encourage road trips and beam advertisements directly to your phone. Now, as CNBC reports, it will be coming to 10,000 of Mickey D’s 14,000 stores. So what’s the big deal? The patty is made of pork — or at least, a product that resembles pork in ...
Several of Comedy Central’s premiere titles — including Chappelle’s Show, Nathan For You, Reno 911!, and Key & Peele — are coming to HBO Max starting November 1st. These series will be streaming on WarnerMedia’s premium streaming services as part of an ongoing licensing deal forged with Comedy Central’s parent company ViacomCBS. The deal also gives HBO Max access to the entire South Park library as well as Inside Amy Schumer. It’s worth noting that all of these titles will be non-exclusive to HBO Max, which explains why Chappelle’s Show is also coming to Netflix starting November 1st. These titles are also available on ViacomCBS’s own streaming platform, CBS All Access, which will be rebranded as Paramount+ in 2021. According to The Hollywood Reporter, at some point ViacomCBS inte...
Ministry have unearthed two unheard mixes of their goth classic “(Everyday Is) Halloween” and two previously unreleased early tracks just in time for October 31st. The (Everyday Is) Halloween – The Lost Mixes EP is available now on digital platforms with a 12″ vinyl release slated for November 20th. The titular “(Everyday Is) Halloween” is perhaps Ministry’s most beloved song from their early, pre-heavy era. The band’s output on Wax Trax Records skewed more toward gothic dance rock, and “Halloween” served as the ultimate anthem for that scene with its proud declaration of self-acceptance. Ministry didn’t perform the song for more than 30 years, until they were joined onstage in Los Angeles by Dave Navarro for an acoustic version in December 2018. They’ve since played the tune a handful of ...

“One of the things I love most about working with Tommy is that none of the beats he plays me ever sound the same,” Grande says. “He’s never afraid to try new things and is always willing to experiment and grow with me.” But the pandemic shifted how they’d experiment, with Positions being recorded in between Brown and Grande’s in-home recording studios in California over the span of several months. Somehow, the two managed to maintain their casual ambiance, which Brown notes was key to creating this album, while everyone involved was being tested every week. Grande flirted more with R&B production, snagged coveted guest artists such as The Weeknd, Doja Cat and Ty Dolla $ign, and tapped rap producers Murda Beatz and London on da Track f...

It’s been 18 years since Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey delivered their thumping collaboration, “I Know What You Want.” Now, in 2020, the duo have reunited on a brand new track that pays homage to their 2002 hit. Rhymes dropped his new album, Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, on Friday (Oct. 30), which features Carey on “Where I Belong.” The song, with a beat equally as head-bopping as the their prior collaboration, actually samples “I Know What You Want.” It’s produced by Navi Beatz and “I Know What You Want” producer Rick Rock. When news first broke that Vin Diesel would be cutting his teeth in the electronic industry, it felt as if we were living in a fever dream. However, his latest entry as the new voice of the tropical house scene is proving how serious he really is. The track is undeniably catchy and has quite a poignant message within the lyrics. Of course, we had to see if the new tune laid over one of his epic action scenes as well as his last song did. The result did not disappoint. As “Days Are Gone” opens, you feel as if you are transported to an island far away. It’s a nostalgic, emotive piece of tropical house but still has the energy that will light up a party. He told James Corden while on The Late Late Show that the track was inspired by “how we all feel right no...
Although Paper Idol may not be a household name yet, he’s a rising talent that needs to be on everyone’s radar. In just two short years, the multifaceted Los Angeles-based artist has released a handful of excellent singles that have touched down on familiar labels like Lowly and Spinnin’ Records. Today, he has returned with his latest track “Clouds,” out via CloudKid. “Clouds” embodies Paper Idol’s feel-good attitude by hooking listeners with a groovy guitar riff and his smooth vocals. Though the build-up mellows the track out for a moment, the drop reels listeners back in with fluttering, raindrop-like plucks and a thick low end. “Clouds” feels like an extension of his previous releases, taking his funky sound design a...

DREAM THEATER‘s John Petrucci has reflected on the passing of Eddie Van Halen, saying the VAN HALEN axeman’s influence “on the guitar community” was “just unfathomable.” Petrucci discussed his appreciation for the groundbreaking musician, who died from cancer on October 6 at age 65, in a recent interview with Holland’s FaceCulture. He said (see video below): “It’s interesting. As far as [Eddie‘s] influence and his impact on the guitar world, you kind of can’t comprehend how big it was. Because when you think about all the guitar players that there are — electric guitar players — you can only name, like, a couple… Most people will probably to two that were game-changing, paradigm-shifting moments — [Jimi] Hendrix and Van Hale...
