Giannis Antetokounmpo’s life is like a fairytale story, so it’s no shock that Disney is making a movie about the NBA icon and his brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo. What does come as a surprise, though, is the fact that they’re looking for everyday people to star as him — no experience necessary. “Disney is making a movie based on my family’s story and they are searching for actors to play me and my brother, Thanasis, in our younger days,” tweeted Antetokounmpo. “No experience necessary! It helps if you resemble the handsome boys pictured below and have some basketball experience. SPREAD THE WORD!” Born in Athens, Greece as the son of Nigerian immigrants, Antetokounmpo fell in love with basketball as a kid, joined a semi-pro local league, and made himself eligible for the NBA draft abroad. Never ones to hold back their feelings, De La Soul have a delivered a pre-election Donald Trump protest song called “Remove 45”. They’re joined on the track by several other hip-hop luminaries, including Chuck D, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, and Styles P. The track was produced by Supa Dave West, and begins with audio of Trump himself. But he can hardly whip out the dog whistle before a chorus of aggrieved voices tells him to “Shut up!” The hook samples Public Enemy’s 1991 classic “Shut ‘Em Down”, chopping and spinning Chuck D so that he calls out, “1, 2, 3, remove 4, 5!” That’s clever and all, but the real flavor in the song comes from the veteran lyricism. “Remove 45” is five-and-a-half minutes of punchlines and policy analysis, goofy jokes and serious concerns. As De La Soul’s Posdnous ...
By Alex Gonzalez At 17, Jordan Kristine Seamón has already built an impressive résumé. You may know her as Caitlin Poythress on HBO’s coming-of-age series We Are Who We Are, but beyond acting, Seamón has many talents. That includes her chameleonic ability to adapt to new surroundings, as with her chosen city of Atlanta, where she moved six years ago after growing up in Philadelphia. “There are no sidewalks in my development,” Seamón tells MTV News, “and I have a dog now, so when I have to walk my dog, I have to walk in the middle of the street. I miss sidewalks and I miss the hustle and bustle that you hear every night. I need noise to go to sleep. It’s very quiet here, and I miss noise.” Although she has grown to love Atlanta’s green, hilly parks and active art scene, Seamón finds herself...

Never one to shy away from genre conventions, SWARM has dropped a blistering new single called “Heartless.” Combining elements of myriad genres, such as happy hardcore and punk, the rising bass producer succeeds in combining them while simultaneously shattering their boundaries. “Heartless” somehow tightropes the wire between nostalgic and punishing, thanks in part to the stentorian vocal flair of Dani King. Flanked by King’s deeply pensive lyrics about emotional numbness, SWARM delivers a rippling happy hardstyle bomb oozing with the ferocity of a Gammer tune. The production present in the drops of “Heartless” is high-energy and frenetic, representing a stark contrast to the brooding bass flavors of his other 2020 releases, like the...

Tony Iommi is mourning the death of his longtime attorney. Earlier today, the BLACK SABBATH guitarist wrote on his social media: “I’d like to say how sad to hear of the passing of my long-term New York lawyer Jeff Greenberg. He’d been handling my affairs for over 30 years and had become a dear friend, way too young to be gone. My thoughts are with his wife and daughter at this time.” In February 2017, SABBATH finished its farewell tour, “The End”, in Birmingham, closing out the quartet’s groundbreaking 49-year career. “The End” was SABBATH‘s last tour because Iommi, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and is currently in remission, can no longer travel for extended amounts of time.
