14-Year-Old ‘Voice’ Contestant Carter Rubin Delivers ‘Brilliant’ Cover of Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Before You Go’

“Thank you Blake, I appreciate it,” Legend jokingly expressed. “I never thought that you would say that about me, that’s very kind. Carter, I turned for you early on. You sounded polished, you sounded strong. Your voice has control, which a lot of people your age wouldn’t have. Your tone is just piercing and brilliant, and it just shimmers out there.” Legend went on to note that Rubin is the youngest contestant he has turned for. “My son, he’s 14 years old, so I could be like a mom figure for you, because I am a mom so you could feel very comfortable around me,” Stefani countered. “I loved your voice. When you got into your real full, full voice, the tone was so beautiful, it was shocking to me. One thing I could help you with that you probably don...

How Phillipa Soo Channeled Beyonce & More ‘Diva Queens’ for Netflix Animated Feature ‘Over the Moon’

The beautiful story, directed by Glen Keane, features spritely and often moving songs by Chris Curtis, Majorie Duffield and Helen Park, and a luminescent score by Oscar-winner Steven Price. For Soo, who is Chinese-American, the story of Chang’e was familiar — up to a point. “We’ve never seen Chang’e like this before. We know what happens until she gets to the moon, but we don’t really know what happens after that,” she says. “With this version, there’s elements of science-fiction in it, elements of the myth, elements of the Chinese culture, and that all culminates into this wonderful version of how we see her now.” Soo talked to Billboard about what Earth-bound stars inspired her performance, how Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda helped prepare her, and the significance...

Unbelievable. From one of the worst things to happen to one of the best. Once again, thank you for everyone’s help.” On Wednesday (Oct. 21), Grant shared a photo of his sleek, baby blue Fender guitar to Instagram. “This morning I came into @guitarguitaredinburgh to pick up the new acoustic. Source: Phillip Faraone / Getty Amber Rose still has some things to get off her chest when it comes to Kanye West. Amber Rose didn’t have anything nice to say about her ex, Kanye West, during a recent interview on the No Jumper podcast. Speaking with Adam22, Rose slammed West. Rose, who is now a mother of 2 children, called out the Chicago rapper and now bootleg presidential candidate for his 2015 comments when he disgustingly said that he had to take “30 showers” 5-years after they decided to dead their relationship. Rose let the chopper sing, “I don’t know if he says things to make his wife (Kim Kardashian) more comfortable but to slut-shame me and say you needed 30 showers?” she added, “You took me around the world. Since when do you need 30 showers?” Rose would go onto say that even af...
