Even as he enters his seventh decade on this planet, Stevie Wonder continues to reinvent himself. The legendary singer-pianist has launched his own record label, So What’s the Fuss Music, which he’s christening today with the release of two new songs. After spending his entire career with Motown Records, Wonder launched So What’s the Fuss Music in partnership with Republic Records. The label takes its name from Wonder’s 2005 collaboration with Prince. For the label’s inaugural release, Wonder has dropped a two-song single. The first, “Can’t Put It in the Hands of Fate”, features contributions Rapsody, Cordae, Chika, and Busta Rhymes. The second, “Where Is Our Love Song”, is a collaboration with Gary Clark Jr. Both songs were made with the hope of providing “instruction and inspiration...
During a pre-recorded launch event on Tuesday, Apple announced the latest additions to their smartphone line, the iPhone 12. In addition to the standard and Pro models, a new Mini version of the popular device was introduced. Some of the biggest upgrades over the previous models come in the iPhone 12’s screen. Apple has transitioned from LCD to OLED (organic light-emitting diode), which ups the brightness and HDR capabilities. They’ve also coated the screen in a “ceramic shield” for the first time, a feature that increases durability (“four times better drop performance”) and water resistance. As per usual with these upgrades, the iPhone 12 is smaller and lighter than previous models without decreasing screen size. The standard version has a 6.1-inch screen, while the Mini model covers 5.4...

The Bird and The Bee are gearing up for the holiday season. The group will release Put Up The Lights, a collection of the duo’s favorite holiday songs featured alongside new original compositions. From that, the group released their new song, “You and I At Christmas Time,” as well as a version of the classic “Little Drummer Boy (feat. Dave Grohl).” The album, due out Oct. 23rd via No Expectation/Release Me Records, also includes covers of “Deck the Halls” and “Christmas Time is Here.” You can listen to Grohl’s playing on “The Little Drummer Boy” here and “You and I At Christmas Time” here. The initial idea for Put Up The Lights dates back to 2007 but it wasn’t until they released Interpreting the Masters Volume 2: A Tribute to Van Halen in 2019 that they committed to making the a...
Stevie Wonder has released a pair of new songs, his first solo offerings in years. “Can’t Put It in The Hands of Fate” features Rapsody, Cordae, Chika, and Busta Rhymes, while the second tune, “Where Is Our Love Song,” includes the guitar playing of none other than Gary Clark Jr. As the titles of the songs infer, they’re respectively about activism, rising to the moment and joining together to face the world’s current issues and how love can help folks overcome the problems of today. The songs were written and produced by Wonder, and released on Wonder’s own So What The Fuss Music label. “In these times, we are hearing the most poignant wake-up calls and cries for this nation and the world to, please, heed our need for love, peace and unity,” Wonder said in a statement The proceeds fr...
Source: Scott Legato / Getty If nothing else Snoop Doggy Dogg is a man of his word so when he promised Jemele Hill that he’d get himself a new Lakers tattoo if they won the championship this year, and low and behold, he done went and done did it. To celebrate LeBron and Anthony Davis bringing the City of Angels their 17th NBA title in franchise history, the Doggfather immediately visited famed tattoo artist, Mister Cartoon and got himself a huge Larry O’Brien trophy inked on his arm with the initials “KB” drawn up right under it. Sitting in a chair while the Chicano artist goes to work on his arm, Snoop looks into his camera phone and proudly states “Anything for the Lakers” and immediately taking a shot at Kawhi Leonard’s team stating, “F*ck the Clippers.” That was lowkey uncalled for but...
Source: Prince Williams / Getty Killer Mike is known for not only his savvy rapping abilities but also for his political activism and hard-hitting analysis. The Run The Jewels star will receive the first ever Change Maker Award during the Billboard Music Awards. As reported by Billboard, the Change Maker Award “recognizes an artist or group that speaks truth to power through their music and celebrity.” Born Michael Render, Killer Mike’s profile as a supporter of civil rights, social justice, and pushing positive change in the inner cities and other communities has become as much his calling as making music. As one half of Run The Jewels with fellow revived Hip-Hop mainstay in El-P (Jaime Meline), KM’s alignment with Bernie Sanders and his tireless media run speaking on behalf of dise...
Source: Apple / Evan Blass (Voice) Apple is usually good at keeping its newest iPhone models close to its chest, but leaks ahead of their big event have reportedly revealed its newest smartphone. Tim Cook and his folks at Apple in just a few hours are set to unveil the iPhone 12 lineup of smartphones. Unfortunately, a leak from phone leaker Evan Blass of Voice has literally stolen some of the tech company’s thunder and gave us the first glimpse at all four phones. Blass has shared what looks to be official renders of Apple’s worst-kept secret, the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 Mini, which he claims pretty much confirms all the rumors swirling around the devices. Apple can breathe a sigh of relief because the images don’t really give away many details about the ...
Source: Drew Angerer / Getty Kanye West‘s 2020 Presidential bid isn’t just a farce on its face, but under the surface it’s also a Republican ploy to help siphon away Black votes from Joe Biden to help the Racist-In-Chief hold onto power in the White House. Even though the conscious backpack rapper turned MAGA acolyte is only on the ballot in a handful of states (hence, making it impossible for him to become America’s 46th President), Yeezy is still going full steam ahead with his campaign and just dropped his first presidential campaign ad aimed at faith-based Americans. In his minute long campaign ad, Kanye West comes off as one of the most sane and visionary candidates we’ve seen in years telling Americans that “We as a people are called to a greater purpose than ourselves. We are not on...
Jay-Z’s The Black Album has not only earned its own accolades, but it helped birth one of Danger Mouse’s lauded mashups — The Grey Album — bringing together Hova’s 2003 LP with the Beatles’ iconic 1968 The White Album. But now there’s another mashup that also brings some punch. On Marcy Projects And The Infinite Sadness, Spose brings The Black Album together with Smashing Pumpkins hit 1995 album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Unlike Danger Mouse’s project, Spose makes conscious choices on the mixes like “Public Service Announcement” with “Cherub Rock.” I’m not sure how long this will exist before it gets taken down but I re-produced the entire “Black Album” by my favorite rapper Jay-Z using only music by my favorite band The Smashing Pumpkins, enjoy!!!...
