“We are absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to screen this epic concert film,” enthused Post 43 theater director Bill Steele. “The boutique setting of our drive-in will enhance the on-screen concert experience.” Post 43 is both a historic, private clubhouse for local veterans in the heart of Hollywood and home to a newly remodeled, state-of-the-art, 6,000 sq.-ft. cinema with seating for 482 guests. Eddie Van Halen Temporarily Honored in New York City Subway Station

Late superstar guitarist Eddie Van Halen has a New York City subway stop named after him, in a temporary, guerilla-style homage to the shredder’s massive musical influence. New York street artist Adrian Wilson takes credit on Instagram for making Brooklyn’s Van Siclen Avenue on the A/C line into “Van Halen Avenue.” Seemingly perturbed by the lack of press, he states on the post, “I left it 4 days for someone else to head to Brooklyn and take the credit but nobody stepped up, so ok, I guess I’ve got to do it myself… you’re welcome.” Wilson told people it was “easy” to do: “A famous person dies, look up the name of a subway stop and put a sticker over it to memorialize the person.” In the last two years, NYC stations saw official tributes to Prince and David Bowie, done by Spotify at th...

Pallbearer’s Joseph Rowland Talks Forgotten Days and the Importance of Releasing Music During the Pandemic

Pallbearer are a true heavy metal success story. Arising from the humble Arkansas metal scene, the band sharpened its craft in the underground and forged its own artistic path, rising up the food chain to become one of the most respected American doom bands. This would eventually lead Pallbearer to heavyweight label Nuclear Blast, who signed the group last year. Symbolically, it signaled that Pallbearer had officially arrived, and that the years of work had paid off. Like the great doom bands of yore — Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Cathedral — Pallbearer infuse their doom with a palpable emotional weight that verges on spiritual. Good riffs are only part of the equation. It’s the human energy and expression that drives the band’s music and spine-chilling live performances. That energy hit...

The original of the tune featured late, great guitarist Randy Rhoads. The band tosses in a moment of Black  Sabbath’s titular “Black Sabbath” to up the spookiness in the tune, plus, for more Halloween-ness, there’s a background of a costume store, and Dailor, in further homage to the Prince of Darkness, bit the head of a plush bat.
