WHITESNAKE’s DAVID COVERDALE Is ‘Healing Nice’ Following Surgery For Bilateral Inguinal Hernia

WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale spoke to “The Cassius Morris Show” about how he is recovering from his recent surgery for bilateral inguinal hernia. The singer was forced to wait several months during the coronavirus pandemic before undergoing the procedure last month at the Renown facility in his hometown of Reno, Nevada. “My performance is an entirely physical, athletic show,” David said (see video below). “I pull my voice up from my whole body, so if part of the body is compromised, it’s really evident. So we had to cancel the tour [with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE and NIGHT RANGER] before the pandemic closed all the borders and stuff. This was something that happened once I’d gotten home from the Asian tour. But everyone was in lockdown — ...

Former METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED Buys Skaneateles, New York Home For $6.1 Million

According to Syracuse.com, former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted has bought a home on Skaneateles Lake in the village of Skaneateles, New York for $6.1 million. The web site speculates that Newsted and his wife Nicole will use the home as a summer residence, seeing as they have been longtime residents of Jupiter, Florida. Last November, Newsted sold his Walnut Creek, California house for $2.3 million. Back in 2017, Newsted put up his Sula, Montana ranch for sale at $4.95 million. That price came down by $450,000 in July 2019 to $4.5 million. The property has since apparently been removed from the market. Six years ago, the now-57-year-old Newsted canceled an appearance at Australia’s Soundwave festival with his band NEWSTED, citing “private and personal circumstances.” T...

TWISTED SISTER’s DEE SNIDER: Republicans Are ‘Shameless Liars Who Think That Victory At All Cost Is Acceptable’

Dee Snider has slammed Republicans as “shameless liars” and has accused the Trump administration of “sucking up to communist dictators.” Snider, who found himself in the middle of controversy in 2016 when he asked Donald Trump to stop using the 1984 TWISTED SISTER anthem “We’re Not Gonna Take It” in his campaign, made the comments after one of his Twitter followers claimed that Republicans misrepresent Democrats’ abortion views. Dee wrote: “The Republicans are not just liars. They are screaming, preening, bald faced, shameless liars who think that victory at all cost is acceptable as they are the ‘moral majority.’ THEY ARE NOT! THEY ARE THE BULLYING MINORITY! IT’S TIME FOR THE REAL MAJORITY TO STAND UP & FIGHT BACK...

No Doubt Commemorates 25th Anniversary of ‘Tragic Kingdom’: ‘It’s Bittersweet’

He recalled joining the band in 1988, releasing their first album in 1992 and starting to work on Tragic Kingdom in 1993 while they were in college. “What I remember most is that despite the challenges, it was a very creative and magical time,” he said. “Gwen, Adrian, Tony and I had real chemistry as bandmates and collaborators, and we discovered our voices as we wrote & recorded those songs together. I appreciate the friendships and camaraderie we shared in those years. We were passionate about our music, and the fact that Tragic Kingdom has touched so many people around the world is beyond what I could have ever imagined.” “Sometimes great things fall apart, which is a shame,” said Dumont. “Yet here we are, 25 years later. It is what it is, &...

Of those, four went to No. 1. In the digital era, she remains a force as the first Mexican female artist to hit one billion views on YouTube with “No Me Acuerdo,” fe...

CupcakKe Drops Off New Single “Elephant”: Stream

Last year, CupcakKe announced her intention to quit the music industry. The Chicago MC has clearly scrapped those plans, however, as she’s spent 2020 releasing a new single every couple of months. Following this past spring’s “Discounts” and “Lemon Pepper”, she’s back today with “Elephant”. On this new cut, CupcakKe calls out all her various critics — from those that say she needs to jump on more collaborations to the folks who have a problem with the way she handles press. “They like, ‘cupcakKe you gotta do more, why the fuck you don’t do features?’” she raps, before putting these complainers in their place: “Want a verse? Gotta pay me/ Ain’t shit free, no JT.” (The latter line is a reference to the formerly jailed JT from City Girls.) Elsewhere, she seems visibly bothered that fell...

R.I.P. Pierre Kezdy, Naked Raygun Bassist Dead at 58

Naked Raygun bassist Pierre Kezdy has died at the age of 58 following a battle with cancer. According to the Chicago Sun Times, Kezdy passed away early Friday (Oct. 9th) at a hospice in Glenview, Illinois. A legend of the Chicago punk rock scene, Kezdy had served as Naked Raygun’s bassist since 1985. He’s also credited with writing some of the band’s seminal songs, including “Home” and “Vanilla Blue”. Years later, Naked Raygun’s impact is still widely felt. Everyone from Foo Fighters to Fall Out Boy to Alkaline Trio has cited the band’s music as a major influence on their own. In addition to Naked Raygun, Kezdy was a founding member of the short-lived, but influential punk band Strike Under. He also played in Pegboy and Arsenal. In 2011, Kezdy suffered a stroke that briefly rendered h...

The Wolf of Snow Hollow Adds Coen-Style Humor to the Werewolf Genre: Beyond Fest Review

This review is part of our coverage of the 2020 Beyond Film Festival. The Pitch: In a small and snow-covered mountain town, a series of murders suddenly create a sizable body count, leaving the townsfolk frightened and the humble police force confused. When a rumor runs through town that a werewolf is behind the kills, coinciding with full moons and savagely torn apart corpses, John Marshall (Jim Cummings) is suddenly tasked with proving that lycanthropes are a campfire tale. This proves difficult when it’s added to his long list of pre-existing duties, such as taking care of his teenage daughter and watching over his sickly father. It’s Like Fargo With Werewolves: Jim Cummings is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to film. No, seriously, the guy has dipped his toes into everything. Writin...

Tool’s Maynard James Keenan Had COVID-19 and Still Has Lung Damage Months Later

Tool singer Maynard James Keenan has revealed that he contracted COVID-19 back in February. Moreover, he is still feeling the effects months later, as he deals with lung damage and coughing fits. While speaking to the Arizona Republic about his band Puscifer’s upcoming album, Existential Reckoning, Keenan was asked about Tool having to shut down their tour plans due to the pandemic. He responded, “I was still recovering from having gotten COVID at the end of February. I’m still dealing with the residual effects. But it was ugly. I survived it, but it wasn’t pretty. So I definitely had to deal with that.” When the interviewer expressed surprise at the singer’s revelation, Keenan explained, “I kind of didn’t want to run around screaming it. But it’s real. And there’s after-effects. I had to ...
