Live Nation Discrimination Case Moved To Binding Arbitration

The move came after Live Nation produced a 2009 letter in which plaintiff Candace Newman agreed to arbitrate disputes with the company. A furloughed touring executive who sued Live Nation in July for race and gender discrimination and wrongful termination will have her case heard by a third-party arbitrator, according to court records in LA County Superior Court. Candace Newman, 38, who identifies as an African American single mother, filed a lawsuit against the touring giant in July, alleging she was furloughed by the company after complaining about a lack of diversity and alleged race discrimination. Newman was one of more than 2,000 employees affected by job cuts at the company, where she had worked for more than 10 years, including her most recent stint as tour director for North ...

Sam Asghari Defends ‘Authentic, Funny, Humble’ Britney Spears After Author Calls Instagram Posts ‘Scary’

Sam Asghari loves Britney Spears, no matter what. The fitness trainer took to the pop princess’ Instagram comment section this week to call out author and screenwriter Kelly Oxford, who expressed on one of Spears’ recent videos, “This account finally got too scary for me.” “what’s so scary about being the biggest superstar in the world being herself (authentic, funny, humble) without caring what others think,” Asghari replied, according to a fan screenshot. “we need more people like her and less Karen’s. also instagram installed this button that you can hit to unfollow about 10 years ago…” However, Oxford seems to be less of a hater, and more of a supporter of Spears’ safety. On July 13, she tweeted...

Martin Garrix is simply unstoppable. Earlier this year, he debuted his first single under his Ytram alias, “Make You Mine” with Bleu Clair and RA. Subtle synths paired with Elderbrook’s flawless vocals heat things up, eventually leading to an intoxicating, groovy drop. Those who were enamored by “Make You Mine” or Elderbrook’s previous singles “Cola” with CamelPhat and “Something About You”...

Laidback Luke Shares Personal Message to His Children with “Rolling Stone”

Laidback Luke has released his latest single, “Rolling Stone” featuring David Gonçalves, a track that explores the struggles of raising his three children while frequently touring. “Rolling Stone” is an impassioned message, addressing the mistakes Laidback Luke made as a father and how his relationship with his children has improved over time. David Gonçalves’ soulful vocals are a wonderful addition to this groovy dance floor filler, as they pair effortlessly with the striking piano chords and funky synths. A beautiful ode to his children, “Rolling Stone” is certainly a track longtime fans will be rinsing nonstop. As some may recognize, “Rolling Stone” samples the classic track by The Temptations, “Papa Was A Rolling Sto...

WE ARE FURY are taking you along through their journey of self-acceptance in their brand new album, Duality. Splitting the tracklist with both melodic and heavy tracks, the record hearkens to the concept of duality, symbolizing the conflict within yourself that must be acknowledged in order to be the best version of yourself. With fifteen songs total, Duality has a bit of it all, taking listeners through a rollercoaster of different soundscapes ranging from cinematic orchestration (“Eyes Wide Open) dance-pop (“Nothing”) and the duo’s first dubstep offering (“Poison”). Saint Bodhi Pops Off on New Song “Gold Revolver”: Stream

Dual threat rapper/singer Saint Bodhi pops off on a cheating partner in the new song “Gold Revolver”. A former ghostwriter, the 27-year-old SoCal native earned her stripes collaborating with Beyoncé, Kevin Gates, Erykah Badu, A$AP Rocky, and more. Now a solo artist signed to Def Jam, she first made waves in August of 2019 with the hard-luck R&B of “FlowerChild”, and then returned in the spring of this year with the balls-to-the-wall banger “Bad Mood”. “Gold Revolver” is her most exciting release yet. Over haunting pipes and head-nodding drums, Saint Bodhi raps a tale of violent madness worthy of early Eminem. “Yo, I have a n—- hogtied to the furnace/ Bitch should’ve watched his words/ I’m slipping in my mental/ I’m whispering to the birds.” The narrator’s unfaithful partner is in for a...

Nina Hagen Teams Up with George Clinton for New Song “Unity”: Stream

George Clinton (photo by Raj Gupta) and Nina Hagen (photo by Christliches Medienmagazin) Nina Hagen, a longtime fixture of Germany’s punk and new wave scenes, has teamed up with funk legend George Clinton for a new song called “Unity”. It’s the first single she’s released in nearly nine years. According to Hagen, “Unity” was written and recorded following the murder of George Floyd and the subsequent protests that took place worldwide. As such, she intended for the song to serve as an “homage to the Black Lives Matter movement,” reports Pitchfork. Musically, “Unity” is a trippy dub number that sees Hagen and Clinton getting lost in an atmospheric beat. While gentle keys and hi-hat stutters guide the song, Hagen sings about people coming together for the greater good in equal parts rasp and...

Arca Shares Ambient New Song “Mallorca”: Stream

Arca returned this past spring with her acclaimed new album called KiCk I, which touts high-profile collaborations with Björk, Rosalía, and SOPHIE. Now, to coincide with Bandcamp Friday, the electronic music producer has unveiled the latest installment in her Mutants Mixtape compilation series, and it features a new solo offering called “Mallorca”. Clocking in at two-and-a-half minutes, the track finds Alejandra Ghersi conjuring an ambient yet shapeshifting world — one that’s fluid and multi-faceted in nature, much like Arca herself. “I’m asking for recognition that we have multiple selves without denying that there’s a singular unit,” Arca told Paper earlier this year, in a discussion about her identity as a Latinx trans woman. “I want to be seen as an ecosystem of minor self-states ...

METALLICA’s LARS ULRICH On Current Situation In America: The First Word That Comes To Mind Is ‘Bewildering’

METALLICA‘s Lars Ulrich recently joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music to run through his “At Home With” playlist. During the chat, the drummer was asked for his take on the current situation in America, both as a father and as a Danish immigrant. He replied: “I think the first word that comes to mind is just ‘bewildering.’ “It’s hard for me to talk about America without putting it in the context of where I come from — Denmark. So my equalizer is Denmark. In Denmark, everything is ‘we,’ everything is ‘us,’ everything is just five million Danes standing together and trying to figure out how to move forward together. So words like ‘unity’ and ‘collective’ are very present when I think about Denmark, and...
