Johnny Depp Seeks Defamation Trial Delay

The novel coronavirus pandemic has shifted release calendars and postponed productions in Hollywood and abroad — and the delay of the latest installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise has created an “irreconcilable conflict” for Johnny Depp. Filming is now expected to extend into early 2021, overlapping with the trial in his defamation suit against Amber Heard. The actor in March 2019 sued his ex-wife for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post titled “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” Depp isn’t mentioned by name, but in Virginia (where he’s suing and the Post has its printing presses) plaintiffs can pursue claims for defamation by inference, implication or insinuation. O...

The MTV VMA’s Paid Tribute To Chadwick Boseman

Source: MTV / MTV This past weekend 2020 once again gave us another reason to consider it the worst year in modern history when news broke that Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer at the young age of 43. The outpouring was immediate and the pain was substantial as fans across the globe mourned the passing of Black Panther and filled social media with tributes, memories and dedications to the illustrious actor. From his colleagues, friends, and Black Panther director, Ryan Coogler, the sentiments shared were both beautiful and heartbreaking. Continuing to pay homage to Boseman, last night’s MTV Video Music Awards kicked off the ceremony with a quick video tribute to the 42 actor in which it showcased his most admirable quality, his humanity. The video was from the 2018 VMA’s when...

Chadwick Boseman Visited Terminally Ill Kids At St. Jude Before He Passed

Source: Marvel Studios / Marvel Studios While the world continues to mourn the loss of Chadwick Boseman we are now just realizing how truly special he really was. The thespian gave the little time he had left to others. As spotted on TMZ the man behind the greatness of Black Panther proved that not all heroes wear capes. Shortly after his sudden passing on Friday, August 28 an outpouring of praise regarding his character has been ongoing from far and wide. The South Carolina native led by example in more ways than we ever were privy to. Shortly after he left us St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital posted to their social media accounts thanking him for his contributions. According to the facility since 2018 he had paid visits to terminally ill children. Not only did he show ...

Peep The Teaser Trailer To Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’

Source: CBS All Access / CBS With 2020 feeling like an apocalyptic year, we might as well get some apocalyptic themed entertainment, right? During last night’s MTV Video Music Awards we got our first sneak peak at CBS’s new limited series, The Stand, which is based off of Stephen King’s classic novel about the end of days in which a global pandemic has wiped out most of humanity off the face of the earth (sound familiar?). The remaining survivors end up joining either Mother Abagail Freemantle (Whoopie Goldberg) or the anti-christ figure of the series, Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård) as the two groups are set on a collusion course of Biblical proportions. We wonder if Flagg’s crew are going to be rocking red hats. Just sayin.’ Check out the quick teaser trailer for Stephen King’s The S...

Snowflake Oppression: Anti-Masker In Alaska Calls Walmart Employees Workers For “Satan”

Source: Twitter / Twitter Thanks to the Divider-In-Chief, Donald Trump, wearing a mask to protect yourself and others from the spread of the coronavirus has become a political statement and with every passing day more and more store employees find themselves in confrontations with anti-maskers who idiotically stand in solidarity with Cheeto Jesus. The latest such incident came in Alaska where a man had a complete meltdown when he was denied entry into a Walmart for refusing to wear a mask as is required by businesses these days for the protection of customers and employees. In a video uploaded onto social media this past weekend, an agitated elder man went off on an Walmart employee for kicking him out the store and somehow made the mask requirement an assault on his faith screaming “Get b...

2020 MTV VMA Winners: See The Full List

Just as 2020 has been an unprecedented year, the 2020s VMAs were destined to be a show unlike anything we’ve ever seen. And indeed it was: a star-studded, mask-centric showcase featuring all your faves that managed to cram in tons of performances and singular events into just over two hours. We saw some truly special moments. Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, both masked, unveiled “Rain on Me” to the world with its debut performance; BTS made “Dynamite” New York City memories from all the way in South Korea; The Weeknd dedicated his two awards speeches to justice for Jacob Blake and Breonna Taylor. And we’re barely even scratching the surface. Gaga and Grande, the night’s most-nominated artists, walked away with five and four wins, respectively, while B...

Chloe x Halle Are Cyborg Sphinxes In ‘Ungodly’ VMA Pre-Show Performance

Not even a global pandemic can slow the Bailey sisters down. In June, Chloe x Halle dropped their second project, Ungodly Hour, which included collaborations with noted songwriter Victoria Monét and a sign-off from Beyoncé herself. Later that same month, they delivered one of the most memorable performances of this year’s BET Awards, in which they performed a sumptuous medley of the collection’s breakout singles “Forgive Me” and “Do It” in a dance-off against themselves. The duo, who are in their early ’20s, brought that same unstoppable energy to the 2020 Video Music Awards, then added a touch of polished chrome, with a bouncy performance preceding the show. Disco seems to be a running theme at this year’s Video Music Awards — the ...

Machine Gun Kelly Recruits Blackbear And Travis Barker For A VMA Pop-Punk Explosion

Pat Benatar taught us that love is a battlefield, and to close out the 2020 VMAs pre-show, Machine Gun Kelly reminded us exactly what’s at stake with a medley performance of two of his heart-on-sleeve cuts: the chunky-riffed “My Ex’s Best Friend” and the pop-punky “Bloody Valentine.” Poised on a pinked-out rooftop and channeling so many modern-rock videos of yore, MGK’s energy traversed the cityscape that backdropped him, clutching a guitar and backed up by a spirited band. Of course, he didn’t do it alone – Blackbear, perched like a gargoyle on the roof, brought his signature panache to the tune as well. But things were just getting started. To smash into “Bloody Valentine,” MGK’s pal and frequent collaborator Travis Barker...

Keke Palmer Opens VMAs With Empowering Speech: ‘It’s Our Time To Be The Change’

Keke Palmer is ready for change. Are you? The singer and actress was one of the first faces we saw when the 2020 VMAs kicked off, and it was fitting — she is the show’s host, after all. But it’s what she did with that platform that really seized the unique moment that 2020 has found us all in. “I don’t know if I was the first choice [to host], or the only one brave enough to do it during COVID,” she joked from the heart of Manhattan as part of her monologue to begin the show. “Either way, I got the job, loves!” But while the jokes were there — “2020 has undoubtedly been a rough year for everyone, and I’m not just talking about my edges” — so were the frank calls to action that have defined the year just as much as the pandemic has...

METALLICA’s LARS ULRICH Clarifies 2016 Comment About Moving Back To Denmark If DONALD TRUMP Became President

METALLICA‘s Lars Ulrich has clarified a comment he made in a 2016 interview, that he would consider moving back to his native Denmark if Trump were elected president. “I am a hundred percent Danish citizen. I pay taxes in the U.S.A., but I can’t vote in America,” Lars said at the time. “Yes, certainly sometimes I think about moving home to Denmark… If Trump becomes President and everything goes to shit, I might make my way to the airport and ask if I can get back in again.” In a brand new interview with U.K.’s Independent, Ulrich said that his original remark had more to do with him being drawn back to his roots. “I feel a deeper connection to where I came from as I get older,” he explained, “and I think in whatever time I have le...
