Kanye West Presidential Campaign Blows Deadline, Rosie O’Donnell Asks Him To Take His Meds

Source: SAUL LOEB / Getty Kanye West’s alleged presidential campaign just hit a major snag. Yeezy missed a campaign donation deadline, which hints that run for President is as struggle-filled as anyone with sense predicted. If you’ve been following Yeezy, and his album release dates, you know that missed deadlines have become the norm. That doesn’t fly when you’re running for office. Reports TMZ: Kanye, the presidential candidate, is required by FEC rules to file a financial report if he raises or spends $100k on his campaign. The filing deadline was August 20, but according to an FEC official … the agency hasn’t received it. So this means one of 2 things, and neither is good for Kanye — either he missed the filing deadline or he didn’t raise $100k … and how do you run for Prez if you can’...

Nicky Romero Releases 2020 Edit of Breakout Single “Toulouse”

Nearly a decade since its release in late 2011, Nicky Romero has revisited the track that facilitated his big break.  It’s safe to say the producer’s early hit single “Toulouse” has demonstrated enough staying power to become an all-time favorite for many dance music fans. It’s the type of track whose very mention brings back a wave of nostalgia, and it all comes back to that bright, unforgettable melody, which hasn’t aged one bit.  The “I Need You To Know” producer made the decision to revamp his career-launching track with a special 2020 edit. Nicky Romero plays it right; he doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, instead opting to make select changes that refresh “Toulouse” for the present day. The melody is crisper,...

Listen to the Marshmello-Produced “half alive” from blackbear’s New Album

Los Angeles-based rapper blackbear‘s long-awaited fifth album everything means nothing finally dropped this week, and his latest full-length record features a contribution from dance music heavyweight Marshmello.  The masked artist produced the song “half alive,” which, upon first listen, is an immediate standout on the album carried by the spunk of punchy drums and driving pluck basses. It’s a particularly funky angle for the chart-topping producer, who underscores blackbear’s storytelling vocals with a dependable riff of shining guitar chords. The track aims for a rewarding grand finale, however, that puts the classic Marshmello sound straight in the driver’s seat with a euphoric synth solo that brings the party anthem to a satisfying co...

Seraphina Simone Channels Her Inner St. Vincent on New Song “Hollywood $$$”: Stream

Seraphina Simone began writing original songs as a way to transform her childhood musical upbringing into a canvas for the inevitably life-changing experiences of adulthood. While the rising indie pop artist doesn’t have a stack of albums under her belt just yet, she does have an impressive range of influences she draws from, including Bat for Lashes, Human League, Blondie, and Lorde. On her newest single, though, Simone channels her inner St. Vincent to create the dark alt-pop hit that is “Hollywood $$$”. This is the second song Simone has released so far, following her debut single “Cherry <8”. While that track earned her digital hype via tastemaker playlists, it’s “Hollywood $$$” that sounds like a verifiable breakout hit. Perhaps its because Simone makes a sharpe critique of the ver...

SPINAL TAP Star HARRY SHEARER Releases Fourth Song In DONALD TRUMP Series

Harry Shearer, one of the creators of the iconic mockumentary film “This is Spinal Tap”, has released the fourth track in his Donald Trump song series, which runs with a song a week throughout this summer and fall. “Stormy Daniels” follows the old-school R&B anthem to Jared Kushner, “Son In Law”; the disco/plaintive folk number celebrating Trump‘s consistent inconsistency in his approach to the pandemic, “COVID-180”; and “Very Stable Genius”, a low-power power ballad, in which the Leader Of The Free World vaunts his self-proclaimed intellectual prowess combined with his calm and balanced disposition. Written and performed by Shearer in the style of a mid-sixties romantic ballad, “Stormy Daniels” is a lush str...

QUIET RIOT’s CHUCK WRIGHT On FRANKIE BANALI: ‘I’m Completely Devastated By The Loss Of My Lifelong Friend And Musical Comrade’

QUIET RIOT bassist Chuck Wright says that he is “completely devastated” by the death of his bandmate Frankie Banali. Frankie was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer on April 17, 2019 and given six months to live. He put up an inspiringly brave and courageous 16-month battle to the end and continued playing live as long as he could. Standard chemotherapy stopped working and a series of strokes made the continuation on a clinical trial impossible. He ultimately lost the fight at 7:18 p.m. on August 20 in Los Angeles surrounded by his wife and daughter. Late Friday night (August 21), Chuck tweeted: “I’m completely devastated by the loss of my lifelong friend and musical comrade, Frankie Banali. I first played with Frankie in 1981. It’s hard to fathom that t...
