Vocalist Sean Killian of reunited San Francisco Bay Area thrashers VIO-LENCE has told Italy’s Poisoned Rock webzine that fans won’t have to wait very long for some fresh music from his band. “We did a cover song that’s gonna come out on the 20th of this month,” he said (see video below). “It’s a band from the Bay Area that we covered one of their songs — a punk band. And we did a video for it. And so Metal Blade Records is gonna get it out on Spotify and iTunes, and we’ll put it out on YouTube as well. That’s coming on August 20th.” This past January, VIO-LENCE parted ways with guitarist Ray Vegas and replaced him with Bobby Gustafson (ex-OVERKILL). The band’s current lineup also includes guitarist Phil Demmel, drummer Perry...
As part of her “One-Minute Jam” video series on YouTube, EVANESCENCE guitarist Jen Majura has teamed up with IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain and WHITESNAKE guitarist Joel Hoekstra to record a cover version of “Live And Let Die”, originally written by Sir Paul McCartney for the 1973 James Bond film of the same name, and performed by WINGS. In a statement accompanying the release of the video, Majura wrote: “Please give it up for this week’s phenomenal 1min jammers: IRON MAIDEN‘s very own Nicko McBrain on drums and WHITESNAKE‘s Joel Hoekstra on guitar! We gathered digitally to jam the ultimate ’73 classic ‘Live and let die’ for you – hope you’ll enjoy!” Majura has released two solo albums thus far, 2014R...
THE DEAD DAISIES — the hard rock “collective” founded by Australian musician and businessman David Lowy — will release its fifth album, “Holy Ground”, on January 22, 2021. The LP was recorded at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France with producer Ben Grosse. The follow-up to 2018’s “Burn It Down”, will be the band’s first to feature Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), who joined the group last year as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY). In a new interview with Rock Titan, THE DEAD DAISIES guitarist Doug Aldrich discussed the band’s latest personnel shuffles, explaining (see video below): “When you make a change, obviously, you always have a possibi...
SYSTEM OF A DOWN drummer John Dolmayan says that people who “despise” President Donald Trump will try to get him out of office “by any means necessary.” The musician, who has praised Trump in recent weeks and has accused Democrats of “demonizing” the president and “blaming him for everything under the sun,” took to his Instagram earlier today (Sunday, August 16) to share a picture of a “Cheat To Win” parody of the Livestrong bracelet worn by Lance Armstrong fans. He wrote in an accompanying message: “To win by any means necessary. Fraud , murder , extortion , race baiting , dividing the people , distorting facts , angling , lying , inciting violence , erasing history , attacking religious beliefs and much much more . It̵...
Source: Chicago Tribune / Getty Perhaps the only person working harder to cheat than Donald Trump is R. Kelly. An alleged manager of the disgraced R&B singer and accused sexual predator has been charged with calling in a threat during a documentary screening. Back in late 2018, a screening of the then-forthcoming Lifetime Surviving R. Kelly documentary, which is now on Netflix, was abruptly ended evacuated due to a threat. Reports TMZ: Donnell Russell has just been charged by the U.S. Department of Justice for an alleged threat to shoot up an NYC theater in December 2018 when the Lifetime documentary, “Surviving R. Kelly,” was being screened there. The feds claim Russell admitted to first sending a cease-and-desist letter trying to end the screening — but when that failed, prosecutors ...
Source: Andy Willsher / Getty No one, and we mean no one care for for CeeLo Green’s opinion about “WAP” considering his problematic behavior. Nevertheless, he did, and the Goodie Mob rapper and singer is now apologizing for his fail. As previously reported, CeeLo chimed in with the audacity to criticize the content Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s sexual explicit “WAP.” Social media was quick to point out some of Green’s previous suspect commentary, including asserting it isn’t rape if the woman is unconscious. Seriously, that happened. And now here we are, with CeeLo apologizing, via Instagram. “There seems to be a misunderstanding with a quote taken from an interview I did a few days ago while promoting my new project. Firstly, I’m an advocate of artistic freedom and expression as well ...

The couple made the announcement on social media via pregnancy reveal photos. Gucci LaFlare posted a pic of his wife in some lingerie that shows off her curves and a baby bump with a caption that read, “My wife pregnant my life is great @keyshiakaoir ❤️🔥.” Hey, no need for lengthy speeches. Keyshia shared her own pic with commentary that was bit more tongue in cheek. “I ain’t athletic but on @laflare1017 D I did gymnastics🤰👼🏽,” she wrote. Well alrighty then. Deftones are teasing something — and all signs point to the release of their anticipated new album. As Loudwire points out, the band recently updated all its social media profile pictures to black frames, with the Facebook image directing fans to its website. The website is a static black screen with white pixels slowly coming into focus to form a square. Could it be album artwork? Though this is interesting, the real clue is in the URL itself (https://www.deftones.com/0925). The numbers likely translate to a date — Sept. 25 — which happens to be a Friday, the day albums are released. A Sept. 25 release date makes total sense, considering Deftones’ drummer Abe Cunningham recently said the album would “hopefully” drop in September after revealing it had been completed during quarantine and ...
Prolific rockers Oh Sees will continue to stay prolific this summer — just under yet another different name. As revealed last month, the group has recorded a new album credited to the moniker Osees. This forthcoming effort, titled Protean Threat, is due out next month and is being previewed now with “If I Had My Way”. While previous lead single “Dreary Nonsense” was an aggressive and punchy punk listen, today’s offering leans more into the laid-back, hazy energy of the season. There are bold, punctuating guitars here and there, but overall the track rolls along at a steady, garage rock pace as frontman John Dwyer barks out a list of existential questions: “Everybody look up!Are you in love? Are you free? Are you alive? Are you evil? Are you all alone? Are you testing it out?Are you flying solo?...
Orville Peck has finally dropped his new Show Pony EP. The effort was originally due out earlier this year, but Peck postponed the release so as not to distract from the Black Lives Matter protests. The six-track project is highlighted by a so-called “dream come true” duet with country legend Shania Twain, aptly titled “Legends Never Die”. There’s also a cover of the Bobbie Gentry classic “Fancy”, as well as early original singles “Summertime” and “No Glory in the West”. Show Pony is Peck’s second-ever project following last year’s Pony debut album, which earned the masked alt-country star widespread critical acclaim. It also comes a month after his cover of Bronski Beat’s “Smalltown Boy”, released in honor of Pride month. Editors’ Picks Stream Show Pony below via Apple Music an...
