SLIPKNOT’s JAY WEINBERG Teams Up With VATER For New Signature Drumstick

Vater has released a new signature drumstick from SLIPKNOT‘s Jay Weinberg: the #Vater908! Grab your own pair today at www.vater.com. Says Jay: “Vater Drumsticks and I have developed a brand new stick that feels like a sharpened hybrid of the classic models I’ve been using since I was 14. The 908 feels familiar in the ways that drummers who play intense and heavy music need — but has extra consideration for the quickness and response we want from our drums and cymbals. “The 908 is between a 5A and 5B for a comfortable grip. It adds ¼” length for added reach, and has a quick taper for a slight forward throw — but with a fast response. Its medium-sized barrel tip delivers a defined ride cymbal tone, without lacking volume, while putting out full drum tones. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀...

Marilyn Manson on WE ARE CHAOS, Pandemic Life, New Wave Influences, and Favorite David Bowie Album

Marilyn Manson is set to unveil his 11th studio album, WE ARE CHAOS, this Friday (September 11th). In advance of its release, the rocker checked in with Heavy Consequence to discuss the new LP, and more. Following up his critically acclaimed 2017 album, Heaven Upside Down, Manson recruited Shooter Jennings to produce WE ARE CHAOS. While the recently released title track is an infectious mid-tempo, glam-rock number, the rest of the album explores the heavy and melodic extremes of Manson’s canon. Manson was set to support Ozzy Osbourne on tour this year, but those dates were canceled in order for the latter to seek medical treatments for various health issues. As it turned out, the tour would have been nixed anyway due to the pandemic. During our conversation with the Manson, he spoke of his...

Indie pop songwriter Anna McClellan has announced a new album titled I saw first light, set to arrive November 20th. To accompanying today’s news, the Omaha musician has shared two new singles, “Desperate” and “Pace of the Universe”. The record is McClellan’s third full-length to date and second for Father/Daughter Records following her 2018 album Yes and No. Early on in her career, the Nebraska-born singer-songwriter was cosigned by Frankie Cosmos, which gave her profile a boost and placed her in a league of comparable contemporaries. Like Cosmos and others such as Florist and Dear Nora, McClellan makes soft, relatively lo-fi twee pop with intimate subject matter and clever lyrics. Unlike those other acts, though, McClellan’s songs have a woozy and whimsical swing to them that’s distinctl...

Tragically, the group’s most recent record, 2019’s In the End, turned out to be their last as O’Riordan sadly passed away prior to its completion. But now, Fergal and the Hogan brothers are honoring their late friend and continuing the strength of their l...
