Op Alert: Republicans Fear Kanye West Presidential Run Could Backfire On Donald Trump

Source: The Washington Post / Getty Earlier this week it was revealed that Republican ops were behind Kanye West‘s sudden push to run for President of the United States and in the process syphoning away Black votes from Joe Biden, hence, helping Donald Trump. While even Charlamagne Tha God admitted that he might vote for Yeezus should he see his name on the ballot come November, Trump’s allies are now fearing that their new poli-trick will ultimately backfire and hurt Cheeto Jesus in the end. Though many Trump supporters are hopeful that West’s inclusion on the ballot will peel off many would-be Biden votes, Raw Story is reporting that other GOP representatives are fearing that it’s actually a double-edged sword that will end up cutting into Trump votes as well as. ...

A goalie all jacked up on Tiësto bangers is a scary opponent. An All-Star NHL goalie all jacked up on Tiësto bangers is a scary opponent. In a recent interview with Complex Canada, Vegas Golden Knights goalie Marc-André Fleury admitted that he blasts EDM before games to get pumped up before taking the ice. “I’m not too picky about my music, but usually going into the game I like something with some beats. I don’t know, more EDM maybe,” Fleury said. “I like Calvin Harris, Tiësto, stuff like that.” In the midst of the rekindled 2020 hockey season, which had been stifled due to the impact of COVID-19, Fleury recently tied the NHL record with his staggering 14th consecutive postseason appearance. It’s the longest active streak among any player ...

Tame Impala Drops Technicolor Music Video for “Is It True”

Watch Parker bring synesthesia to life. Kevin Parker, the man, the myth, and the legend behind Tame Impala, has released the official music video for “Is It True,” the sixth single from his The Slow Rush LP.  The psychedelic, technicolor visuals are reminiscent of Parker’s live performances, engulfing the viewers in a world of synesthesia. The visuals depict Parker grooving in a retro format that looks like it was created with a mix of VHS recordings and Amiga 2000 graphics. The result feels as if you’ve entered the multi-instrumentalist’s private trip, a landscape of introspective, glitched-out art.  The “Is It True” music video arrives shortly after Parker surprised fans with a rare Tame Impala remix of 070’s Shake‘s &#...

Machine Gun Kelly & blackbear Try to Get With ‘My Ex’s Best Friend’ in New Collab

Machine Gun Kelly and blackbear tag-team yet again for a song about a messy entanglement involving “my ex’s best friend,” which came out today (Aug. 7). The guitar-laden track weeds through a breakup that would’ve felt harder to get through if the two artists weren’t using their ex-girlfriend’s right-hand women as rebounds. “My ex’s best friend” will be featured on MGK’s fifth studio album Tickets to My Downfall, which is coming out Sept. 25 and executive produced by his frequent collaborator Travis Barker of Blink-182. MGK and blackbear have previously worked on three songs together, including “End of the Road” on the first’s 2012 LP Lace Up, “Shoot ‘Em Down” by MOD SUN, and “e.z.” ...

Digital Services’ Appeal of Publisher Rate Hike Headed Back to Copyright Royalty Board: Sources

The U.S. Court of Appeals reviewing an appeal from Spotify, Amazon, Pandora and YouTube over the Copyright Royalty Board’s mechanical rate determination has remanded the case back to the CRB, sources tell Billboard. At press time the decision was sealed, so industry sources weren’t clear on what issues the Washington, D.C. Circuit Appeals Court had with the CRB rate ruling, other than it apparently was due to procedural issues. But procedural issues were at the heart of the digital services’ appeal and, at its most extreme, this could mean the ruling vacated the process that yielded a 44% rate increase for publisher royalties. {“nid”:”8502707″,”type”:”post”,”title”:”Why Spotify's Appeal of The CRB Rate Decision Is A Hug...

Cory Asbury’s second album, To Love a Fool, released July 31, is following the pattern set with his 2018 Top Christian Albums chart topper, Reckless Love. Both sets launched with a lead-off single. Reckless Love’s title-track led the multi-metric Hot Christian Songs chart for 18 weeks, and Christian Airplay for 13 frames, and Asbury finished 2018 as Billboard’s top male Christian artist. Continuing his run, the first single from To Love a Fool, “The Father’s House,” ruled Christian Airplay for three weeks in June. Asbury, who resides in Kalamazoo, Mich., with his wife, Anna and their four children, has also been part of the worship collective Bethel Music since 2015. Digital Media Company LiveXLive Had an OK Quarter, But It’s Got a Long Way to Go

What three letters best explain the modest gains LiveXLive unveiled during its quarterly earnings call Thursday? The would be P-P-P as in the Paycheck Protection Program. Nearly all of the company’s $3.5 million reduction in spending for the quarter appeared to have come from the almost $2 million federal loan it received in March, coupled with $1.4 million in reductions of employee salaries and other expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic. That helped LiveXLive achieve its “best quarter in the history of the company,” according to CEO and chairman Rob Ellin, who reported a 11% increase in revenue and a quarterly loss of $7.5 million, or $0.13 per share. That missed the consensus estimate of a loss of $0.12, but marked a significant improvement from a loss of $0.21 per share a year ago (tot...

LIFE OF AGONY Guitarist: ‘The Value Of Music Has To Return Or Else There’ll Be No Music Business’

In a new interview with Guitar World, LIFE OF AGONY guitarist Joseph Zampella, a.k.a. Joey Z. spoke about the fact that album sales are continuing to fall as the music business inches closer to an access-over-ownership model. “Music has lost a lot of mystery now with YouTube and the Internet,” he said. “At one time, the only way you knew what a band was like was to see them yourself or buy the home video. What got you excited was the mystery. The newer generation has lost that, and music has lost its value. “People will spend $15 on a lunch that lasts half an hour, but they wouldn’t spend that on an album that will last them a lifetime,” he continued. “The value of music has to return — or else there’ll be no music business.” Back in 2017, Za...

Speaking to Bob Nalbandian of the “Shockwaves/HardRadio” podcast, he said: “I’m still working on the record. I haven’t really got anything to report as for when and where it’s gonna get released, because, obviously, COVID changed a lot of release dates and event things. “I haven’t really talked about the record anywhere yet, because I wanna wait till I can tell people when it’s coming out and stuff,” he continued. “But I’m still working on it. DREAM THEATER To Begin Work On New Studio Album In The Fall

DREAM THEATER guitarist John Petrucci has confirmed to Spain’s Metal Hammer magazine that the band is planning to use some of its coronavirus downtime to work on the follow-up to last year’s “Distance Over Time” album. “There’s a lot going on musically this year,” Petrucci said (see video below). “Obviously, everybody’s trying to be creative. “The DREAM THEATER schedule is different now. We would have been touring in the spring, we would have been touring now, and then we probably would have been off for the fall and winter. But now that that’s all changed, we’ll go back in the studio, because nobody wants to sit around and do nothing. “We’re musicians, we’re creative people, so we’re gonna make...
