New RATT lead guitarist Jordan Ziff — who is also a member of Marty Friedman‘s backing band — spoke to The Entertainer! Magazine about what it was like to join the band in 2018 as the replacement for Warren DeMartini. “I love playing those songs,” he said. “When I was in high school, I listened to that stuff. It’s interesting to be able to come into a band that had a guitar player I really respect and be in his position to do his stuff. “I will never play songs 100% note for note,” he said. “It’s just not what I do. Even if I’m playing a cover song, I want to somehow make it my own song. That’s what I do. If I was playing in a band where it was unacceptable for me to be myself, I wouldn’t want to be a part of it.”...

Source: Earl Gibson III / Getty Hip-Hop’s most hated media personality has apparently been shown the door. DJ Akademiks is saying he has been fired from his talk show. The last couple of weeks have been filled more downs than ups for the Jamaica-American. It started out with his criticism of Freddie Gibbs that lead to a very snarky back and forth with the Gary, Ind. rapper. From there he got into some a war of words with Meek Mill who pointed out his culture vulture vibes. Somehow that set the stage to him to dropping some very harsh bombs on Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. Last week it was reported AK was suspended from Complex for his actions. As spotted on Hot New Hip Hop it seems he has been terminated from his position on Everyday Struggle. On Sunday (July 12), Ak shared a post via so...

In the gameplay overview trailer, we learn that there is no one way to complete a mission in the game and that each cha...
The last time we heard Eddie Van Halen’s name it was because a nugget about him pulling a gun on Fred Durst leaked from a new book on the increasingly reclusive guitarist. David Lee Roth had some news about his bandmate and it will be to the chagrin of Van Halen fans. In an interview with the New York Times where he mostly talks about his art during the pandemic, Roth said that Van Halen the group is unlikely to tour again due to Eddie Van Halen’s ongoing condition. The guitarist has been battling throat cancer, and Roth said if the band hasn’t returned to the road by now, the future doesn’t look promising for the hard rock legends. “I don’t know that Eddie [Van Halen] is ever really going to rally for the rigors of the road again,” Roth said. “I don’t even want to say I’ve waited — I’ve&n...

If there were a Mount Rushmore of electronic music, Daft Punk‘s helmets would surely be blasted into the side of a mountain. But in fact, the robot icons have only have a single No. 1 song to their name. In the spring of 2013, the anticipation around Daft Punk’s forthcoming LP was kinetic. It had been eight years since the duo’s last studio album, Human After All — a noisy, industrial electro banger that extended the game-changing aural aesthetic of their prior two LPs, 1997’s Homework and 2001’s Discovery. It had also been seven years since Daft Punk’s seminal 2006 Coachella performance, which is still cited as one of the best shows in the 20-year history of the festival and is considered a gateway moment for the burgeoning rise of dance musi...
Lisa Marie Presley, whose son Benjamin Keough died on Sunday (July 12) at age 27, previously described her “ferociously protective” parenting style. Presley’s rep told The Hollywood Reporter yesterday, “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter, Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.” But in a 2014 interview she did with Healthy Living Magazine, Presley said her protectiveness and love for her kids didn’t waver when they got older. “I am very protective. I just smother them in love and I am also ferociously protective,” she said at the time. “When they get older sometimes I don’t think it ev...
