Machine Gun Kelly and blackbear tag-team yet again for a song about a messy entanglement involving “my ex’s best friend,” which came out today (Aug. 7). The guitar-laden track weeds through a breakup that would’ve felt harder to get through if the two artists weren’t using their ex-girlfriend’s right-hand women as rebounds. “My ex’s best friend” will be featured on MGK’s fifth studio album Tickets to My Downfall, which is coming out Sept. 25 and executive produced by his frequent collaborator Travis Barker of Blink-182. Digital Services’ Appeal of Publisher Rate Hike Headed Back to Copyright Royalty Board: Sources
The U.S. Court of Appeals reviewing an appeal from Spotify, Amazon, Pandora and YouTube over the Copyright Royalty Board’s mechanical rate determination has remanded the case back to the CRB, sources tell Billboard. At press time the decision was sealed, so industry sources weren’t clear on what issues the Washington, D.C. Circuit Appeals Court had with the CRB rate ruling, other than it apparently was due to procedural issues. Cory Asbury’s second album, To Love a Fool, released July 31, is following the pattern set with his 2018 Top Christian Albums chart topper, Reckless Love. Both sets launched with a lead-off single. Reckless Love’s title-track led the multi-metric Hot Christian Songs chart for 18 weeks, and Christian Airplay for 13 frames, and Asbury finished 2018 as Billboard’s top male Christian artist.
