Comedian Bryan Callen stands accused of rape and sexual misconduct. On Friday, The Los Angeles Times published an investigative report that included allegations from four separate women that span over two decades. According to the report, former MADtv cast member Katherine Fiore Tigerman stated that Callen raped her in 1999 after pleading with him to stop. That same year, former American Apparel employee Rachel Green alleged Callen pinned her against a dressing room wall. Green said she had pushed Callen off and immediately told her co-workers. Actress Claire Ganshert told the Times she met Callen in 2012 and claims she had a four-year affair with the comic while he was married. Callen reportedly told her that women have a “biological, primal desire to be raped.” Later in 2017, comic ...
In the absence of live music, the streaming landscape has emerged as the most popular and efficient means of connecting with fans during the COVID-19 epoch. Perhaps no platform has benefitted more than Twitch, a gaming platform that has mutated into the most prevalent live music streaming medium in recent weeks—especially in electronic dance music. Since Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos acquired Twitch for a staggering $970 million back in 2014, the platform had experienced meteoric growth before exploding due to the pandemic’s recent gasoline pour. However, Twitch has found itself in hot water in recent weeks after issuing DMCA takedown notices to legions of its users. Since the Amazon-owned company doesn’t pay royalties to artists when their music is played on the platform, the...

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS guitarist Dean DeLeo spoke to Marci Wiser of the 95.5 KLOS radio station about the band’s iconic debut album, “Core”. The group performed the LP in its entirety for a livestream event yesterday (Friday, July 31) on Nugs.tv. Regarding STP‘s collaboration with producer Brendan O’Brien on “Core”, Dean said (hear audio below): “One of the greatest things in my career was having the honor and luxury of making most of my records with Brendan. And here we are, 30 years later or whatever, and he’s one of my dearest friends. I learned a lot, and I think I can say that on behalf of Robert [DeLeo, bass] and Eric [Kretz, drums] as well. Brendan brings a lot to the table — he brings a lot in — and it’s just not only his exp...

He said (hear audio below): “We’re trying to salvage the dates that we had had booked for this year to support the [latest TESTAMENT] record [‘Titans Of Creation’, which was released in April via Nuclear Blast]. We’ll probably move them to next year and try to secure a lot of dates. “I’m sure there’s gonna be a lot of traffic next year; there’s a lot of bands trying to get out there and get back on the road. But in the meantime, we have a new record out. We’re still out promoting, talking to people. “There’s gonna be a lot of time before we c...
Mike Shinoda says that LINKIN PARK is planning “something very cool” for the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album, “Hybrid Theory”. “Hybrid Theory” — the band’s original name before it was changed to LINKIN PARK for legal reasons — was issued in October 2000 and was a breakout success for the group, which had formed in 1996 and had played the Los Angeles club scene for several years. The album yielded four massive hit singles — “One Step Closer”, “Crawling”, “Papercut” and “In The End” — while going on to sell more than 10 million copies in the U.S. alone. Speaking to an audience of Kerrang! magazine readers as part of a Kerrang! Face-To-Face video, Mike said about the upcoming “Hybr...

State of The Muppets: It’s been a minute. That might sound strange to those who have tuned in to the recent mini-Fraggle Rock revival on Apple TV+ or binged last year’s critically acclaimed Dark Crystal reboot on Netflix. While it’s been wonderful to see these properties get new treatments, it’s worth noting that those productions have flown under the banner of the Jim Henson Company, which controls certain archival content and owns rights to some of the more “cult” properties left over from the entertainment empire that Henson created. The Muppets that multiple generations around the world grew up on, including characters like Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo the Great, are currently owned by Disney. That distinction may not matter to most, especially with Henson produc...
