Public Enemy Takes on Trump In Scorching New Single “State Of The Union (STFU)”: Stream

Public Enemy has long been the soundtrack for the fight against inequality — and that hasn’t changed in Trump’s America. Today, the group returns with a blistering new single for the times appropriately titled, “State of the Union (STFU)”. The 13-track effort expands on the excellent Map of the Soul : 7  from earlier this year, boasting two new original songs. Cat Power Pays Tribute to Cassius’ Philippe Zdar with Cover of “Toop Toop”: Stream

To honor the late French producer, his friend and collaborator Cat Power has shared a cover of Cassius’ 2006 hit “Toop Toop”. Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) and Zdar worked together numerous times over the years, with the former appearing on a handful of tracks on Cassius’ 2016 LP Ibifornia. Zdar even worked pro-bono on Cat Power’s classic 2012 album Sun. Their close relationship led Marshall to pay homage to Zdar at his funeral, where she teamed with -M- (French rocker Matthieu Chedid) for a performance of “Toop Toop”. Atlanta Cops Reportedly BIG MAD, Call Out Sick In Response To Garrett Rolfe Being Charged

Following fired Atlanta PD officer Garrett Rolfe being hit with 11 charges following the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks. According to insiders within the force, there was an “unusual number” amount of officers calling out “sick” and not even responding to calls in several of the city zones. When news of the “call outs” hit social media, the Atlanta Police Department was prompted to actually issue a statement on Twitter addressing the issue calling the claims inaccurate. Former Atlanta Cop Garrett Rolfe Charged With Felony Murder In Rayshard Brooks Case

Source: Joe Raedle / Getty As the tragic murder of Rayshard Brooks is still fresh on the minds of protestors in Atlanta and nationwide, a charge has been levied upon one of the officers in the case. Garrett Rolfe, a former officer with the Atlanta Police Department, has been charged with felony murder. Local outlet WSB-TV reports that Rolfe faces a total of 10 charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage, and oath of office violations. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard also announced at a Wednesday (June 17) news conferences the charges for Officer Devin Brosnan, who faces three charges of aggravated assault, violation of oath, and failing to render timely medical aid.
