Butch Walker is trading in his guitar for a piano. The Grammy-nominated producer (Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Green Day) and singer-songwriter announced his 10th studio album Butch Walker as…Glenn, in which he plans to introduce fans to his piano man balladeer alter ego shaped after his heros, Elton John, Billy Joel, Warren Zevon and Jackson Browne. As Glenn, this will be the first album Walker wrote entirely on piano in nearly 20 years — the same piano he wrote his cult-classic 2004 album Letters. The album’s lead single “Holy Water Hangover” comes with a video that features Walker as Glenn and gives a glimpse into the life of a bar singer. Butch Walker as…Glenn is slated for an August 26 release via The Orchard and can be pre-ordered here. It’s Walker’s first album since 2020’s Ameri...
NBA YoungBoy has returned with a fresh single and music video, “Change.” Directed by Isaac Garcia, the official visual features a simple montage of the rapper performing around a mostly-bare white-walled room. YoungBoy’s rapid pace of putting out new music has given way to a few song titles that sound a bit similar. While this new single is simply called “Change,” he already has the tracks “Changed” and or “Change (4 Freedom).” “I done sat up in the prison all night, wishin’ that I’m holdin’ you,” he raps. “Tryna make my money, bring me close to you, I’m feelin’ sorry.” The new track arrives as YoungBoy gears up for the release of his sprawling 30-track album, The Last Slimeto. Slated to drop next month on August 5 via Atlantic Records and Never Broke Again, the project will land as YoungB...
“You ever get those thoughts, those inspirations, that hit and you just go, ‘Wowww…I can’t believe I just figured something out!’” says Perry Farrell, by way of introduction. “Well, I just figured something out today…” Typically, when greeted with a conversation-starting “How are you?” most people are inclined to answer with a routine “Fine.” Perhaps an “I’m good.” But Perry Farrell is not most people. And so less than 30 seconds into our phone call, Farrell, fresh off a plane from Lollapalooza Paris, and, before that, a plane from Lollapalooza Stockholm (in between, there was a week of rehearsals for the reunited Porno for Pyros), is already getting into the next thing. This next thing is one that is particularly important to him: a benefit concert to raise funds for the victims of the Ju...

Caught in lockdown in separate cities across Europe in early 2020, multi-instrumentalist Daniel Kessler worked on arrangements that would become Interpol‘s next album, The Other Side of Make-Believe. At the time, frontman Paul Banks released the self-titled debut album of Muzz, his sideproject with Josh Kaufman and Matt Barrick, that was set to arrive in the summer of 2020. But without being able to tour for it, he felt ready to tackle the next Interpol record. For Kessler, working remotely was a new process that took some getting used to. “We’re a little bit old school.
