Noah “40” Shebib, the Drake collaborator and OVO producer, is the subject of a new short documentary called Toronto Rising. The Alim Sabir–directed film features rare footage from Shebib’s life, a discussion of some of his early work with Drake, and more. He also opens up about living with multiple sclerosis. Watch it below. “I’ve always considered myself a visitor in hip-hop,” Shebib said. “When I was 21, I got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I learned a lesson in the hospital, which was that as long as I had at least one finger that still worked, no matter what the world took from me, I could play the keyboard and I could make music. All the things in my life just kind of pointed me in one direction. I’m here to play my part and to leave my impact, but from my perspective, I was a gue...
Travis Scott is performing at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. The awards show will broadcast live on NBC this Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. Eastern. The BBMAs performance will mark Scott’s first major public appearance since the 2021 Astroworld Festival that left 10 people dead. Astroworld took place in November 2021, and Scott has slowly been returning to the public eye. In late March, he performed a brief set at a private pre-Oscars house party in Bel Air, California. The following month, the rapper also appeared at a Coachella afterparty, where he played five of his own songs during a brief DJ set in a La Quinta Venue. He was then featured on Southside and Future’s single “Hold That Heat,” and was announced as a performer at three South American music festivals. In addition to Travis Scott,...
Hailing from The Bronx, The Martinez Brothers are widely known for their extended DJ marathon sets in Ibiza and at the legendary Club Space in Miami. They never prepare their sets ahead of time, preferring to feel the vibe and pick up on the energy of the crowd. As producers, they’ve released major club records, spanning from their break out “H2 Da Izzo” in 2012 to their 2019 Lil Yachty Feat. Lil Baby “SaintLaurentYSL” remix. They’ve also made their mark on the Latin pop scene, with Rauw Alejandro, Zion & Lennox, and Mr. Naisgai’s “Química” as well as The Martinez Brothers Feat. Fuego “Pendiente Al Paso”. We joined them inside the Yuma tent, where their signature house/techno sound had the Coachella 2022 crowd bumping nonstop. Step into the DJ booth with The Martinez Brothers and watch...
Travis Scott is slated to take the stage at this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards in his first televised performance since November’s Astroworld, during which a crowd surge led to the tragic deaths of ten festival attendees. Scott has been nominated for top dance/electronic song for the remix of his hit single “Goosebumps” with Spanish producer HVME. Billboard will mark both his first televised performance and his first awards show performance since the Astroworld tragedy. The rapper just gave his first public performance in several months at the club E11even’s Miami Grand Prix celebration on Saturday night. In addition to Scott, Billboard has announced that Red Hot Chili Peppers and Silk Sonic will also perform. Hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs, the Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast fr...
Chloe’s journey to self-discovery continues — but now, it’s with Chris (and only good vibes) by her side. This week’s Siesta Key featured the zen blonde still reeling from her recent talk with Sam (a little sage over here, please!). Resolving to take a break from “the Sam and Juliette sh*tstorm,” Chloe found herself focused on getting settled into her new home with Chris, despite hearing from friends and family that the two are “moving way too quickly.” Even Chloe’s mom expressed concern over the pair’s swift move-in — while bringing up her daughter’s past. “She used to be quite a handful. I just hope she never goes back in that direction,” Michelle said. Chris was quick t...
