Ms. Lauryn Hill Releases Statement Supporting California Bill Attempting to Limit Label Power Over Artists
Ms. Lauryn Hill released a statement today on Instagram offering a message of support for the California bill the FAIR Act. If signed into law, the bill would repeal an amendment to California’s “Seven-Year Statute” that makes it so record labels can sue artists for damages if they leave after seven years but before fulfilling the required number of albums outlined in their contract. “Artists can easily fall prey to the internal politics of business, someone inside simply not liking them, or bullying and intimidation and the attacks that come when someone resists that coercion,” Hill writes. “Music is a most powerful medium. Phoebe Bridgers Releases New Song “Sidelines”: Listen
As promised, Phoebe Bridgers has shared a new song. “Sidelines” appears in Hulu’s adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel Conversations With Friends. A snippet of the song initially featured in the show’s trailer. Check out the full new song below. Bridgers made “Sidelines” with Marshall Vore and Ruby Rain Henley. According to a press release, it’ll be her only original song of 2022. “Sidelines” is the first new original material from Bridgers since her 2020 record Punisher.
