American songwriter Phoebe Bridgers and Irish author Sally Rooney are a match made in heaven, with works that mine world-shattering emotions out of everyday intimacies. Now you can find both in one place, as Hulu’s trailer for the adaptation of Rooney’s Conversations with Friends features a new Bridgers song, “Sidelines,” as its soundtrack. Bridgers is famously a fan of Hulu and Rooney’s work. In May of 2020, she tweeted that she had watched the miniseries adaptation of Rooney’s novel Normal People, writing, “and now I’m sad and horny.” This led star Paul Mescal to respond, “I’m officially dead,” prompting Bridges to flirt back, “nooo don’t die your so talented aha.” Now the pair are dating. But even apart from her interest in Normal People’s leading man,...
If there’s one thing we know about Paul Verhoeven, it’s that he’s certainly not shy of putting sex at the center of his films. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Basic Instinct and Showgirls director criticized No Time to Die, the latest film in the James Bond franchise, for scrapping any sex scenes involving 007 himself. While 2006’s Casino Royale — which marked Daniel Craig’s first portrayal as Bond — didn’t include any explicitly sexual content, Verhoeven commended the film for at least alluding to some more salacious behavior. Now, he says, Hollywood blockbusters are “scared of sex.” “Sex is the essence of existence!” Verhoeven said. “There was always sex in Bond! They did not show a breast, or whatever. But they had some sex.” Advertisement Related Video As Craig ret...

Giancarlo Esposito, who portrayed Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, revealed that he is quite open to the possibility of reprising his role for another spinoff that is focused on his character. Netflix has added a new Two Thumbs Up button to its platform, which will allow users to indicate that they are highly interested in certain content on the platform. The new feature, which will be used to further curate and personalize a user’s recommended content, will reside next to the streamer’s previously-existing Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down controls on a TV show or film’s page. “Our current Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons are a good way for you to tell us how you feel about a series or film, and in return, you get a profile that’s better personalized to your taste,” the streamer explained in a blog post. “However, we’ve learned over time that these feelings can go beyond a simple like or dislike. Providing an additional way to tell us when you’re really into something means...
