We recorded almost the entire record in ou...

This piece was created in partnership with Afro Nation. Billboard and Afro Nation recently launched the first-ever official Billboard Afrobeats U.S. Songs Chart, tracking the most popular rising new music in the rapidly growing genre. The 50-position Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, which went live last month on Billboard.com, ranks the most popular Afrobeat songs in the country based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of leading audio and video music services, plus download sales from top music retailers. When alté music, a genre defined by its inability to be conclusively defined as it moves through different genres and maintains a highly experimental form, began to enter mainstream Afrobeats music in the late 2010s,...
Interpol unveiled a new track, “Something Changed,” from their forthcoming The Other Side Of Make-Believe. The lives of the three are intertwined in a nebula of fear, retribution, desire, and defiance.” The Other Side Of Make-Believe is out July 15 via Matador. The band began working on the album remotely du...

Latin music continued its relentless expansion path in the U.S. last year, with recorded revenues reaching $886 million, according to a year-end report released by the RIAA Tuesday (April 12). That’s the highest figure ever for Latin music before adjusting for inflation and marks overall revenue growth of 35% compared to 2020 — far outpacing the 23% growth rate seen in the overall U.S. music market, as previously reported by the RIAA. “With growth of 35% – far surpassing the overall growth rate for recorded music revenues – Latin music is connecting with fans in a historic way,” said RIAA COO Michèle Ballantyne in a statement included in the report. The 2021 numbers mark the sixth consecutive year of double-digit growth in revenue for Latin music, which is defined as music recorded predom...

Last week, Interpol announced their new album The Other Side of Make-Believe by sharing lead single “Toni,” and the first part of an accompanying short film. Now, the band is back to finish the story with “Something Changed.” Check out the single and visual below. “In ‘Something Changed,’ part 2 of our short film with Van Alpert, reality and reverie converge and our two lead characters find themselves in a kind of dream state — being pursued inexorably by an ominous figure (played by myself),” Interpol singer Paul Banks explained in a statement. “The lives of the three are intertwined in a nebula of fear, retribution, desire, and defiance.” The track matches the melancholy piano of “Toni” with equally foreboding keys. “I waded through shame for this,” Banks sings, in his famously resi...
While some players endeavor to set world records in Elden Ring by taking absolutely zero damage the entire way through, others have turned to speedruns, trying to complete the game’s main points as quickly as possible. Just a month ago, the world record was a sub-30 minute run, but now the same speedrunner has managed to bring it down all the way below just nine minutes. Achieved once again by YouTuber Distortion2, his latest world record run sits at just eight minutes and 56 seconds. The feat was made possible thanks to a new discovery by speedrunners in Elden Ring of a bug they call “mega zips,” which allow you to move incredibly quickly across a large portion of terrain. The feature is activated by pulling off a specific sequence of moves, namely blocking and moving forward at...
