‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Expected To Have Longest Run Time in Franchise’s History
The forthcoming Jurassic World: Dominion is expected to be the longest film in franchise history. Collider has reported that the run-time for the sixth-entry to the long-lived Jurassic storyline will be at two hours and 26 minutes. The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow and will see the film’s staple cast Chris Pratt, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Bryce Dallas Howard and Sam Neil return to the big screens. The third installment of the franchise’s refreshed run led by Pratt, comes in close to two-and-a-half hours, but falls short of long-length three-hour films like The Batman and Avengers: Endgame. Sharon Van Etten has announced her new album. The follow-up to 2019’s Remind Me Tomorrow is called We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong and it’s out May 6 via Jagjaguwar. Bush Tetras’ New Drummer Is Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley
In October—just prior to the release of the band’s retrospective box set—Bush Tetras’ founding drummer Dee Pop died at age 65. Prior to a handful of shows they’re playing later this year, the band members announced today that they’ve brought on a new drummer: Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley. In a statement, Bush Tetras said they’ve known Shelley for years. “We knew it would be impossible to replace Dee in many ways, but having Steve join us has been both comforting and invigorating,” vocalist Cynthia Sley said in a statement. “He just fit in seamlessly, like a missing puzzle piece. Portishead will regroup next month for their first show in 7 years, playing a short set as part of a War Child benefit concert supporting relief efforts in Ukraine. Nine Inch Nails will replace Foo Fighters as the Friday headliner at next month’s Boston Calling Festival. Foo Fighters canceled all of their upcoming tour dates, including their appearance at Boston Calling, following the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. Twitter tweeted Tuesday that it is indeed working on a way for users to edit their 280-character messages, although it says the project has nothing to do with the fact that edit-function fan Elon Musk was just revealed as the company’s largest shareholder and now sits on its board. Twitter said it will test the feature in its paid service, Twitter Blue, in the coming months. It said the test would help it “learn what works, what doesn’t, and what’s possible.” So it may be a while before most Twitter users get to use it, if they ever do. Warner Music Group is relocating its Canadian businesses to The Well, a newly-constructed building in downtown Toronto. Beginning in March 2023, WMG employees from Warner Music Canada, Warner Chappell Music Canada and Sodatone (a predictive A&R and marketing intelligence platform) will move into the new office, which will include a recording studio, performance space, songwriting rooms and content creation workrooms.
