During the performance, Heinali performed using a modular system that he saved from his home during an evacuation amid the Russian invasion. “Live from Ukraine team successfully managed to broadcast my fundraiser live set from a bomb shelter in Lviv yesterday, despite the air raid alarm two hours before the performance and a rather wonky 100m ethernet cable made of two 50m cables and a coupler shielded from rain with a plastic bag,” Heinali said in an Instagram post. Japanese Breakfast’s 2022 Grammys Diary: BTS, Doja Cat, Bieber, and More

Much to her own surprise, Japanese Breakfast snagged two 2022 Grammy nominations, one for Best New Artist and another for Best Alternative Album. When BTS announced the nominees for the Best Alternative Album category, way back in November, Michelle Zauner “screamed her head off,” she tells Pitchfork. Fast forward four months, and dressed in a Jubilee yellow Valentino mini-dress, with mini persimmons hanging from her nails (which, according to Zauner, have left her with “really sore nail beds” but were “totally worth it”), she was ready for her first-ever Grammys. And while Zauner may not have won an award, she did achieve what she really wanted to accomplish: getting a photo with BTS. In her own words, here’s what she saw and what she experienced Sunday night in Las Vegas. Follow along wi...

DISTURBED’s DAVID DRAIMAN Gets Blasted On Social Media For ‘Solution’ To Student Debt Crisis

DISTURBED frontman David Draiman has been criticized on social media for suggesting an oversimplified solution to the student loan crisis. Apparently in response to yesterday’s news that the federal moratorium on student loan repayments, which was set to end next month, has been extended through August 31, Draiman shared a 2019 political cartoon from Rick McKee, the staff cartoonist at The Augusta Chronicle. In the cartoon, a professor can be seen standing next to a huge white board and using a pointer to highlight to a student the two-step solution to the student debt crisis: “1. You took out a loan. 2. Pay it back.” As expected, Draiman‘s tweet was met with an overwhelmingly negative reaction from many of his followers, some of whom directed their ire at his band....
