RICHIE SAMBORA On TAYLOR HAWKINS’s Death: ‘Sometimes The Perils Of Being In The Rock And Roll Business Can Kill You’

Former BON JOVI guitarist Richie Sambora has paid tribute to FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died more than a week ago at the age of 50. Speaking to Fox News‘ “Fox & Friends” last Thursday (March 31), he said about Taylor‘s passing (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Oh, man. The FOOs are just a legendary band. It’s such a shame, obviously, because sometimes the perils of being in the rock and roll business can kill you. I was a lucky guy that I just didn’t like any of that crap that much. But Taylor was a great guy, an amazingly talented man, and they were one of the most successful bands in the world for a very long time. And we’d find ourselves on vacation together, just crossing paths and stuff like that. They were just a ...

Wake Up Dead – INCITE

RATING: 6.5/10 The children of successful people have their work cut out for them if they choose to follow in those footsteps. Richie Cavalera is likely to live in the shadow of his stepfather, heavy metal legend Max Cavalera (SEPULTURA, SOULFLY, NAILBOMB, etc.). Richie and his thrashing groove metal band INCITE have been slugging and hacking away since 2004, and the Arizona-based act has paid its dues and established a name for itself. Here they return with their sixth album, “Wake Up Dead”, which is formidable but far from exceptional. “Wake Up Dead” definitely flows as a cohesive new album; however, the latter half of the release is comprised of re-mastered songs culled from each of the band’s previous five full-lengths, including the melodic metal rager &#...

It’s Doja Cat’s first-ever Grammy win. SZA walked to the stage on crutches to receive the award—at one point, Lady Gaga helped her out—but still managed to beat Doja Cat to the microphone. When Doja Cat showed up, out of breath, she said, “I have never taken such a fast piss in my whole life,” and adjusted her dress. Later in her speech, she started to cry. “I like to downplay shit. But this? It’s a big deal.” Explaining why she was on crutches today, SZA said in an interview with Variety, “I fell out of bed before I came...

Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, And More Brighten Up the Grammys Red Carpet

The 2022 Grammys red carpet is here. Last week’s Oscars ceremony drew out glitzy, black-tie outfits from the silver screen’s shiniest stars, but tonight (April 3), it was the musicians who rocked the step-and-repeat in their most over-the-top ensembles. Though last year’s broadcast, held at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, was scaled down due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it still delivered plenty of excellent sartorial moments, from Harry Styles’s fuzzy purple boa, to Phoebe Bridgers’s blinged-out bones, to the Haim sisters twinning in periwinkle Prada. Artists followed suit this year as they arrived at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where the show took place for the first time, and the fashion did not disappoint. First-time honorees and circuit mainstays alike spar...

2022 Grammy Winners: See The Full List

Even before the actual ceremony airs tonight (April 3), it’s safe to say the 64th Annual Grammy Awards have been a wild ride. The show was first announced to take place in January, but safety concerns over COVID-19 caused the Recording Academy and CBS to push back the event for the second year in a row. When the action finally goes down tonight, organizers have taken steps to make sure it was worth the wait: Billie Eilish, BTS, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo, Jack Harlow, Brandi Carlile, and the Brothers Osborne are all set to perform. Eilish may walk away a big winner for the third year in a row, as she has six nominations in total, as does Rodrigo. Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, and H.E.R. each earned eight. But no one landed more nods from the Recording Academy than Jon Batiste, who leads th...

Olivia Rodrigo’s First Grammys Performance Didn’t Disappoint

By Deepa Lakshmin By the time Olivia Rodrigo hit the stage at the 64th Grammy Awards on Sunday night (April 3) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, she was already a winner. With a whopping seven nominations in all the major categories, the Sour singer-songwriter took home her first-ever Gramophone for “Best Pop Solo Performance” for the unforgettable “Drivers License” ahead of the show. It was fitting that not long after, she sang the same song as the first performance of the big night — a career-defining moment, no doubt. “I’ve grown up watching the Grammys religiously,” she told E! News on the red carpet. “I watched everyone’s performances on YouTube so many times. So, to be here tonight with all these incredible people is such an honor.” In a stunning layered d...
