JOAKIM BRODÉN Explains Why SABATON Is A Self-Managed Band

During an appearance on “The Back Lounge” podcast, vocalist Joakim Brodén of Swedish metallers SABATON spoke about why he and his bandmates continue to exist as a self-managed entity — a rarity among groups operating at their level. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “We tried twice to involve people for very short amounts of time, but it never worked out, really. In the beginning, it’s not by choice; it’s by necessity. We wanted a manager who had some connections who could get us where we wanted to be faster, I guess, back in the days. But right now, no, we’re happy where we are. Nobody’s gonna care as much about SABATON as we are gonna do. But it would be unfair to say that it’s only us in the band doing it. We sort of built an o...

Garrix and Maejor additionally dropped the dynamic debut album under their AREA21 alias, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, late last year. During that time, Garrix was simultaneously taking a break from producing new club hits, especially as events were on hold with the onset of the pandemic. “The crazy thing is I’ve never released a Garrix album. During COVID I made zero club music because it felt weird to make festival music when the...

Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel took April Fools’ Day to a whole new level this year. Switching coasts and networks, the comedians traded late night shows for the evening, with Fallon hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Kimmel hosting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.  While the bit is funny to rewatch on YouTube, it’s especially entertaining to see the reactions of the shows’ studio audiences, who received the prank in real time. Bon Jovi Kick Off Spring 2022 Tour in Omaha: Photos, Recap + Setlist

Arena rock is a genre of music that will never die, as long as crowds convene inside hockey arenas around the country to sing along to our favorite anthems from our favorite artists. That’s exactly what took place when Bon Jovi kicked off their 2022 tour in Omaha, NE at the CHI Health Center on Friday, April 1st, for their first public in-person concert since the pandemic started. Ione, a singer from Sioux City, IA, was the contest winner of the opening slot for the Omaha tour date. With a full backing band — two guitar players, a bassist, a drummer, and a keyboardist — Ione filled the arena with her soulful voice, reminding one of ‘70s singer-songwriters like Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks.
