Superorganism are back with another look at their forthcoming album, World Wide Pop. This time around, they’ve shared “It’s Raining,” which features Pavement singer Stephen Malkmus and UK rapper Dylan Cartlidge. “It’s Raining” is a swaggering hip-hop track, with a slinky, bass-heavy beat, a mess of synthesizers, and a glitchy Scott Walker sample coalescing at full force. The single comes with an animated music video, directed by AEVA with illustrations by Risa Kazama, where an anthropomorphic raindrop slides along with the grooving passengers of a bullet train. Check it out below. Superorganism discussed the origins of “It’s Raining” in a statement. “We’ve been enormous fans of Stephen Malkmus forever, and we loved the idea of combining Malkmus and Scott Walker into a strange almost b...
Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer both say they are “traumatized” from watching Will Smith slap Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards. In an excerpt from an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing later this week, Sykes expressed her disappointment with the Academy for not escorting Smith out of the venue. “I just felt so awful for my friend Chris,” Sykes said. “And it was sickening, absolutely sickening. I physically felt ill, and I’m still a little traumatized by it… And for them to let him stay in that room and enjoy the rest of the show and accept his award, I was like, ‘How gross is this? This is just the wrong message.’” Advertisement Related Video Sykes continued: “We were the hosts, right? So this is our house, we’re inviting you in, we’re the hosts, we’re gonna take care of...
“I’m not for everyone.” This mantra, a lyric stripped from their latest release Skeletons, has become a rallying cry for Brothers Osborne’s most recent album cycle. The simple, defiant phrase leads press releases, dons their merch, and titles their current expansive tour. But as their profile continues to grow and they rack up additional award nominations, it’s starting to feel more and more like everyone loves those “not for everyone” brothers. Made up of T.J. Osborne, who takes lead vocal responsibilities, and John Osborne, the group’s lead guitarist, Brothers Osborne’s unflinching attitude has been garnering them unlikely success in the famously rigid Nashville country scene. While they break the country music mold in numerous ways, from their mix of genres to their politics, the band b...

And it will be serious and funny.” “I’m going to tell some jokes. It’s nice to just be out,” Rock added before launching into his set Prior to announcing the winner for documentary feature during Sunday’s Academy Awards, Rock cracked a joke ...
Donald Glover recently sat down with Jimmy Kimmel and opened up about his new process for creating music. Nearing the end of the 12-minute interview, Kimmel asked the Awaken, My Love! artist if he was working on a new Childish Gambino album at the moment, which received an uproar from the audience. Jokingly responding with a “No” answer at first, he clarified that he’s still “making a lot of music.” He continued, “I really love doing it. I’ve made a bunch of it, it’s just really how to experience it at this point.” Kimmel then asked if Glover if had to schedule his time in order to pursue his many artistic paths, and Glover confirmed that he is required to nowadays. “It used to just flow but now I have kids, so nothing flows anymore,” he explained. “Nothing’s as easy as it used to be so I ...
New music from Drake could be on the way as the OVO head shared a brand new photo of him working in the studio. Posting the image on Instagram, The Boy can be seen on the couch at the back of the studio, with the view showing the boards, a mic and sound engineer working on something. No caption was attached the photo, unfortunately, so fans will have to wait and see if there is a followup to Certified Lover Boy. Drizzy’s latest studio album Certified Lover Boy dropped in September 2021 after a lengthy delay as he recovered from his knee surgery. The record went on to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, holds the biggest opening week of 2021 and broke Apple Music and Spotify’s 2021 records for largest streaming debut within a single day. In related news, check out Drake’s rare 1986 Fleer M...
In a recent Cameo video message requested by Jonathan Montenegro of Sobre La Dosis, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser commented on the band’s enduring musical influence, especially within the heavy metal scene. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Yeah, I feel very proud that SEPULTURA, after almost 40 years — we’re at 37 years now — of a career, is still relevant. People talk about our old stuff, our new stuff. We have a very rich history with some changes in lineups and characteristics in music, using the Brazilian influence of our music — percussion and et cetera — which put SEPULTURA in a different place compared to other bands, especially outside Brazil. So, yeah, it’s cool that we created something new on the business, on the scene, on the heavy mus...
EXODUS drummer Tom Hunting says that his doctors found “a second type of cancer” while they were preparing to perform a surgery on him during his battle with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the stomach. The 56-year-old, who underwent a successful total gastrectomy in July 2021, discussed his ordeal in a new interview with Zetro’s Toxic Vault, the YouTube channel run by EXODUS singer Steve “Zetro” Souza. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “They’ve gotta cut your skin and then they’ve gotta cut your muscle. They’ve gotta get into, basically, your very core and pull out this huge organ, which had a tumor inside it. And also, as a curveball… They do an exploratory surgery ahead of time called laparoscopy where they basically… Th...
British rockers THE STRUTS have signed to leading independent record label Big Machine Label Group, a subsidiary of HYBE America. Formed in Derby, England circa 2012 with a recent creative surge in Los Angeles, the tongue-in-cheek swagger of singer Luke Spiller, guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies is influenced by a mix of QUEEN flair and OASIS audacity. THE STRUTS‘ name was born from a rehearsal observation as Spiller innately strut around the room as they performed in their earliest days. Since, they have found themselves massively embraced by some of the greatest icons in rock and roll history, opening for FOO FIGHTERS, THE ROLLING STONES, THE WHO, GUNS N’ ROSES and MÖTLEY CRÜE. NPR Music has observed THE STRUTS “reveal the supreme mix ...
In a new interview with the “Metal From The Inside” podcast, JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2018’s “Firepower” album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s still in the process. And it’s been slowed down a lot because of, obviously, the pandemic. We wanted to get together, like we did on ‘Firepower’, and record it together, but, obviously, the lockdowns and everything like that slowed that process [down]. Some of us live in the U.S., some of us live in the U.K., so getting together proved to be a bit difficult over the last couple of years. Now everything is kind of opening up, it’s a bit easier, but now we’re o...
