Hank Williams Jr. has announced that his 57th studio album, Rich White Honky Blues, will be produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. It drops June 17th via Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label. The 72-year old son of country music legend Hank Williams, Sr. also revealed the album’s opening number and first single “.44 Special Blues.” The spry solo track digs into the County Music Hall of Famer’s bluesy roots, with its vintage-style refrain, “Baby where’d you stay last night,” pairing perfectly to his well-worn wail. In a statement, Auerbach makes those same sonic connections, saying: “The first time I ever saw Hank Jr. on TV, I was a kid raised on Robert Johnson and Hank Williams, Sr. records, and those things came through so clearly watching him. So, I tried to assemble the rig...
The Killers have released the deluxe edition of their 2021 album Pressure Machine via Island Records/UMG. Stream it below on Apple Music and Spotify. First unveiled back in August, the band’s latest studio effort centers on the heartbreaking and intimate stories from Nephi, Utah, the small town on the Wasatch Front where lead singer Brandon Flowers was born and raised. Grab a hose, because Dave Grohl is on fire right now. The Foo Fighters frontman and two-time Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductee turns his creative energies into a new, considerably heavier project, Dream Widow. Dropping like a two-ton stone on Friday (March 25), Dream Widow is a companion to the Foos’ full-length feature film, Studio 666. It’s a throw-back to the heavy metal of old, dragged from the belly of the beasts that are Metallica and Motorhead, two of Grohl’s influences, with a touch of Ministry and Van Halen. Blending screamo, incendiary guitars and solos galore, the album, and its artwork, should be a wind-up for those who spend more time at church than rock concerts. “I can feel a black wind blowing,” Grohl sings on “Cold,” track 2 of 8, and a number that defines the mood. HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Guy D’Alema / FX On Thursday (March 24) FX series Atlanta finally kicked off its highly-anticipated third season. But if you were waiting for the adventures of Ern, Paper Boi and crew in Europe you had to practice a bit more patience (the 2nd episode followed) as it was a bugged-out quasi-kidnapping story based on the real-life tragic case of Devonte Hart. SPOILER AHEAD. In the episode, titled “Three Slaps,” a young Black kid, Loquareeous, shows out in class by getting his dance only to be reprimanded to the principal’s office. The Batman director Matt Reeves has released a deleted scene from the film, which sees Robert Pattinson‘s Batman interact with Barry Keoghan‘s Joker at Arkham Asylum. The scene was first posted on a website shared by Reeves, which tasked viewers with solving word puzzles mimicking those of the Riddler (Paul Dano), though the video is now more widely available. “What’s interesting is that the reason that Joker’s in the movie is there was actually another scene that was earlier,” Reeves previously said in an interview with IGN. “And because the movie is not an origin tale for Batman, but it’s his early days, it really is an origin tale for the Rogue’s Gallery’s characters. And for me, I think [it’s] this idea that the Joker is not yet the Joker, but they already have this relationship.”...
