It’s a phrase so nice, their songs say it thrice: “Griselda, Griselda, Griselda.” Now, the three biggest stars of Griselda Records — founder Westside Gunn, his brother Conway the Machine, and their cousin Benny the Butcher — are hitting the road for a 2022 US tour. This marks the first Griselda jaunt since the pre-pandemic days of 2020, and since then, all three members have released a lot of music. Just in the past six months, Benny has dropped the excellent Tana Talk 4, Conway unveiled his Shady debut God Don’t Make Mistakes, and Westside Gunn finished up Hitler Wears Hermes 8, the eighth installment in his ongoing mixtape series. Ben Stiller to Play Jack Torrance in The Shining Stage Adaptation
Jack Nicholson immortalized Jack Torrance in the 1980 film adaptation of The Shining, but Ben Stiller may soon take his own stab at the character on the stage. According to Variety, Stiller is in talks to star in Ivo van Hove’s upcoming theater adaptation of Stephen King’s classic story. van Hove’s production is scheduled to open on London’s West End next January, with rehearsals set to begin in the fall. According to Variety, the production is expected to stick more to King’s novel than Stanley Kubrick’s film, which King famously criticized for, amongst other things, attributing Torrance’s psychological breakdown to the isolation of the Overlook Hotel more than to the hotel’s supernatural forces. Greta Van Fleet have decided to postpone the remainder of their spring US tour as band member Jake Kiszka continues to struggle with pneumonia. The guitarist is home after spending four days in the hospital, but the “healing process is long and slower than anticipated.” Originally, both Jake and his twin brother Josh (lead vocals) fell ill last week, forcing Greta Van Fleet to postpone a show in Flint, Michigan, one of five planned gigs in a row in their home state. George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic have announced a stretch of late spring and summer tour dates in the United States. Dopapod, Pimps of Joytime, the Floozies, and the Motet are among those joining the band at different stops on the tour, which begins in mid-June and extends through August.
