William Hurt’s Former Partner Comes Forward with Domestic Violence Claims

Days after the death of William Hurt, the actor’s former long-term partner Donna Kaz has shared her response to the news and opened up about the abuse she suffered at the actor’s hands. In a guest column for Variety, Kaz looked back at her relationship with the late actor, which began in 1977 and officially ended in 1980 — though they would still see each other a few times per year until 1989. “Bill would snap, physically shove, punch and beat me, followed by tears, apologies and him offering me expensive gifts,” she wrote. “When the battering began I sloughed it off. He said he was sorry. Perhaps I instigated it. I only had to visit the ER once. It was only after many, many years I admitted to myself that I was the victim of domestic violence.” The author of 2016’s Un/Masked: Memoirs...

Missy Elliott Calls Out Jowell for Implying She Gets 99% of Bad Bunny’s ‘Safaera’ Royalties: ‘This Is Very Irresponsible’

Missy Elliott is clearing her name after successfully getting her royalties for Bad Bunny’s hit song “Safaera,” which features a sample from her hit, “Get Ur Freak On.” It all started last week, when Jowell of Jowell & Randy said in an interview that his royalties for his feature on “Safaera,” dropped to just one percent due to the uncleared sample. The interview led to some backlash, with some claiming that “Safaera” is an original Bad Bunny song and Missy does not deserve her chunk of the royalties. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news On Wednesday (Mar. 16), an Ariana Grande fan page called out Jowell on Twitter for “all the hate your interview is bringing Missy!” “F— that,” Jowell replied. “Let them enjoy their money. Bloom Vol 8: One With You

This week, I wanted to share something I wrote one day when thinking about those who experience mental health challenges wanting to experience a feeling of “normalcy”. Many musicians, artists, creatives, people of all walks of life, at one point and time, have felt what the below describes. Are we meant to be; Statistics stacked against me, Can we love? Can we dream? Help me, Accept me, I have so much to give I’d like to think, Constellation prizes shining on the kitchen sink, Wash away these thoughts, Skin is red, hard to come off,  Wolf in the suburbs howling to strangers, Wanting to belong, Crying out to the moon to be loved by someone,  Typewriter and the click of rain, It’s easier inside to waltz far from the pain, From the burdens that we bear, Mood swings hammer glass ever...

GLENN TIPTON: Next JUDAS PRIEST Album ‘Will Be What Every Fan Will Want’

In a new interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2018’s “Firepower” album. He said: “The epidemic really halted the writing process. But the band was kicking ideas around before that. I think it’s what every PRIEST fan would want to hear. There’s no attempt to be clever or try and do something too risky. It’s just down and out PRIEST. And as I say, I think it will be what every PRIEST fan will want.” Last month, JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford was asked by Remy Maxwell of Audacy Check In if he agreed with guitarist Richie Faulkner‘s recent comment that the band’s upcoming album will be more musically “prog...

The group recorded the LP in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who has previously worked with FOO FIGHTERS, STONE SOUR, HALESTORM, EVANESCENCE, RUSH and ALICE IN CHAINS, among many others. “We’re excited about it, obviously,” Snake said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “It’s a record that’s been taking a while to do. But the prospect of working with a guy like Nick Raskulinecz was just something that… You go along in this business and all of a sudden it gives you a gift. And that gift was Nick. And Nick is someone that we had a high regard for before we ...

CHUCK BILLY Says DAVE LOMBARDO Has Expressed Interest In Playing On Next TESTAMENT Studio Album

TESTAMENT singer Chuck Billy discussed the return of drummer Dave Lombardo to the group’s ranks during an interview earlier this week with the WSOU 89.5 FM radio station. An original member of thrash metal legends SLAYER, Lombardo was the guest drummer on TESTAMENT‘s 1999 studio album “The Gathering”, which also marked the first time the band worked with then-up-and-coming British producer/engineer Andy Sneap. Asked about the possibility of Lombardo being involved in the writing and recording of TESTAMENT‘s next studio album, Chuck said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It all depends on Eric [Peterson, TESTAMENT guitarist]; he’s the starting point of what we do. Bop Shop: Songs From Umi, Mod Sun, Flasher, Muna, And More

Muna is the moment. On the heels of “Silk Chiffon”’s massive success (I’m not saying the lyrics “Life’s so fun, life’s so fun / Got my miniskirt and my rollerblades on” cured my seasonal depression, but it certainly didn’t hurt), the Los Angeles indie-pop trio have delivered an equally infectious follow-up: “Anything But Me,” a synth-backed, self-assured cut about knowing your worth and ending a relationship where “everything feels wrong.” Of course, it’s “not all so black and white,” lead singer Katie Gavin qualifies on the chorus. “But it’s all love and it’s no regrets, you can call me if / There’s anything you need / Anything, anything but” — cue a burst of twinkling keys — “Me, me yeah.” If this bop (and its Western-themed music video) is any indication, Muna’s forthcoming self-titled ...
