Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Won’t Take Dolly Parton’s Name Off Ballot

Dolly Parton remains under consideration for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — whether she likes it or not. Arcade Fire Detail New Album WE, Release New Video For ‘The Lightning I, II’

Arcade Fire are finally back. The group will be releasing their sixth studio album WE on May 6. It will be the band’s latest collab via Columbia Records. The first single, “The Lightning I, II,” is out with an accompanying music video directed by Emily Kai Bock. The band recorded it in New Orleans, El Paso, and Mount Desert Island, but their sessions were initially disrupted by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the spring of 2020. The Smile—the trio of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with drummer Tom Skinner—are back with their latest single. “Skrting on the Surface” arrives with a new music video. When Vonte Skinner stood trial in New Jersey in 2008 for a drug-related shooting that he claimed he did not commit, a detective read to jurors at length from a book of amateur rap lyrics discovered in Skinner’s car the night of the crime. They referenced bloodshed and violence and death – but they weren’t connected to the actual facts of the case.
