Vini Vici and Berg have turned back the clock to 1993, reimagining The Beloved’s club classic, “Sweet Harmony.” The superstar psytrance outfit eschewed the electrifying elements of their signature sound here, opting for a more hypnotic feel. Melancholic chords and feathery pads highlight the airy arrangement, before Vini Vici and Berg unload a four-on-the-floor drop with spacey synths. The production of Berg, a budding Israeli electronic music artist, adds layers of emotive sound design to the revamped “Sweet Harmony.” All in all, it’s a unique blend of dance-pop, progressive, and psytrance that represents yet another solid addition to Vini Vici’s venerated discography. “‘Sweet Harmony’ is one of those tr...

The group played mostly covers, charged $15 for people to see the performance and drew 75 people. The Radio City concert was held just months before METALLICA made its recording debut on the first “Metal Massacre” compilation (on which they were credited as METTALLICA) — and featured METALLICA‘s then-lineup of James Hetfield on vocals, Dave Mustaine on guitar, Ron McGovney on bass and Lars Ulrich on drums. METALLICA‘s set included only two original tunes — “Hit The Lights” and “Jump In Th...
During an appearance on the “Walking The Floor With Chris Shiflett” podcast, Wolfgang Van Halen was asked to describe the kind of frontman he is when he and his MAMMOTH WVH bandmates perform live. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’m very much myself, to a certain degree. It’s not much of a, [in high-pitched voice] ‘What the fuck is up, everybody?’ I think everybody would expect, from a cynical distance, if they know nothing about it, they probably assume me to be like David Lee Roth-esque and be, like, ‘wow’ in between every vocal. Maybe that’ll be a phase I reach at some point, but right now I’m just myself and I talk to the audience, I tell stories in between songs about what you’re about to hear....

We have very much communication. And it’s been 40 years [since TNT‘s formation]. But we’re trying to bring the band back together and hopefully make one last tour of Europe and maybe America… I think we might wanna end the TNT chapter with dignity and do one last tour.” Last April, Harnell, who has been in a...
