Battles Announce U.S. Tour
Battles are heading out on tour in support of 2019’s Juice B Crypts, after a few years’ pandemic disruption. Their massive slate of spring, summer, and fall dates includes a string of U.S. shows supporting Primus, as well as headline and festival dates across the States and Europe. Check out the itinerary below. In 2020, Battles released a remix EP, Juice B Mixed, which included a Black Midi remix of “Sterling Bridge.” Battles are working on a new studio album, according to a press release. Last night (March 13), Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza took home the award for Best Original Screenplay at the British Academy Film Awards. The director wasn’t at the ceremony to accept the prize himself, so Jonny Greenwood (who wrote the title theme) and Alana Haim stepped in on his behalf. Watch it happen below. Earlier this month, Haim released the new song “Lost Track”—which had appeared with screenings of Licorice Pizza—along with a video directed by Anderson. Licorice Pizza is up for three Academy Awards at the end of March: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, with Greenwood earning a separate Best Original Score nomination for his work on Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog. Dolly Parton Declines 2022 Rock Hall Nomination
Dolly Parton has removed herself from consideration for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which she announced in a statement on Monday (March 14). “Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right. In celebration of the anime and manga’s 20th anniversary, two live-action sequel films to 2017’s live-action adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist were announced, and fans have now been treated to a first look at some of the characters. Featured above, the new photos showcase four of the beloved anime’s key players, including Van Hohenheim, King Bradley, Ling Yao and Olivier Mira Armstrong, portrayed by Seiyo Uchino, Hiroshi Tachi, Keisuke Watanabe, and Chiaka Kuriyama respectively. As House of the Dragon officially enters post-production, author George R. R. Martin confirmed that there are three more Game of Thrones spinoffs currently being written. Sharing the news on his blog, the creator revealed that while he cannot divulge the information on the “live action shows for HBO, and animated shows for HBO Max” they are developing, he does have important updates on other projects.
