Dolly Parton has removed herself from consideration for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which she announced in a statement on Monday (March 14). “Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right. I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out,” she wrote. This year was Parton’s first time being nominated. Read her full statement below. This isn’t the first prize that Dolly has turned down: she twice declined a Presidential Medal of Freedom from the Trump administration, and has said she’s not sure whether she would accept one from the Biden administration, either. Hollywood veteran Nicolas Cage recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter in a lengthy interview that touched on the possibility of reviving sequels for National Treasure and Face/Off. The Oscar winner was asked whether or not he would be up for a Face/Off 2 sequel, he said he had not heard anything about a second installment of the film. In his response, Cage also touched on National Treasure 3, which last received a progress update from Jerry Bruckheimer in 2020. The actor expressed his opinion on the potential sequels stating, “So often these things we read about are just conjecture without any base or foundation to it. I feel the same about National Treasure 3. It’s been 14 years. There’s no there, there. So, is it fun to think about? Sure. Would [Face/Off 2] be an exciting movie to ma...

Sharing the news on his blog, the creator revealed that while he cannot divulge the information on the “live action shows for HBO, and animated shows for HBO Max” they are developing, he does have important updates on other projects. Firstly, Rome creator and showrunner Bruno Heller has begun writing the pilot script for The Sea Snake, which was formerly titled Nine Voyages and will focus on Corlys Velaryon — “since we wanted to avoid having two shows with numbers in the title.” Secondly, the Nymeria series Ten Thousand Ships has received several drafts from showrunner Amanda Segel and, finally, the Dunk & E...

“I hit a low point a few years ago,” Shawn Mendes admits, his brow furrowing beneath his shaggy curls. The sun is setting over a Santa Monica, Calif., apartment complex, and Mendes is leaning forward from his seat as he explains a recent major life change: his embrace of spirituality. It started with meditation to bring a little balance to his chaotic life of pop stardom. That turned into reading religious texts, which turned into a deep dive on the Bhakti movement in Hinduism. For nearly a year, Mendes has spent every Thursday meditating and discussing scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita with Jay Shetty, the author of Think Like a Monk. “I think everybody has a moment where they just decide it’s time to kind of do something different,” says Mendes matter-of-factly. Now spirituality is “a pa...
