At long last, Marshmello has offered a taste of Joytime IV, the fourth installment of his long-running album series. Fans can now sink their teeth into the album’s first single, “BeFoRe U.” Marshmello turned back the clock here, showcasing the blissed-out, saccharine future trap sound that propelled him to superstardom. It’s a breath of fresh air for Mello loyalists, many of whom have become disillusioned by his pivot to hip-hop and contemporary pop music. It seems like a lifetime ago when Marshmello released the first edition of Joytime, his debut album, which dropped back in 2016. The record was a breakthrough for the subversive producer, who recently garnered his first Grammy Award nomination in the category of Best Dance/Electronic album for Shoc...
When the musical Bat-Signal appears, the eyes of Gotham turn to electronic music: Alesso, Peggy Gou, Baauer and more are all featured on the soundtrack for The Batman, now in theaters. In fact, even the film’s lead, Robert Pattinson, tried his hand at crafting ambient tracks during downtime on set—while wearing his Batsuit, no less. The music of Kevin Saunderson, Patrick Topping and Corvad, as well as of icons like Nirvana, Dean Martin and Al Martino, fills in the gaps where Pattinson’s music quite didn’t make the cut. “As a die hard [sic] Batman fan I can’t believe I have a song in the new movie,” added Alesso, who contributed “DARK” to the film. After a period of deeply personal self-examination, Krewella have emerged with a brand new album. The barnstorming electronic music duo have dropped the curtain on The Body Never Lies, their third album and most intimate one to date. It’s their first full-length record since 2020’s Zer0, which arrived seven years after their breakthrough debut, Get Wet. From the frenetic drum & bass rhythms of “In The Water” to the soaring synths of “6 Feet,” the album is visceral and designed to indulge the senes. And after looking inward, it’s clear that Krewella wrote the record with a renewed sense of spirituality. “The clench of a fist, the pit in your stomach, the fluid in your veins; the body is a sensor, messenger, keeper of stories, a fortress of...
It looks like The Knocks are on the precipice of their biggest and most impactful project yet. The veteran duo have long flexed an inimitable ability to produce blockbusting music at the intersection of disco and house, but they’re yet to release a genuine tour de force. However, that may change on April 29th, when they release HISTORY. It’s early, but it’s not a stretch to call the record a darkhorse for the year’s best dance album. The Knocks are teaming up with a formidable group of collaborators for HISTORY, such as MUNA, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Cold War Kids, Parson James and Yoke Lore, among others. If that list is any indication, longtime fans are safe to expect the bubbly indietronica sound they’ve come to know and love. The tandem are also...

Jolie, who serves as Special Envoy to the United Nations Refugee Agency, is on the ground in Yemen to meet displaced families and refugees affected by the country’s civil war. “As we continue to watch the horrors unfolding in Ukraine, and call for an immediate end to the conflict and humanitarian access, I’m here in Yemen to support people who also desperately need peace,” Jolie wrote on Instagram. “This week a million people were forced to flee the horrific war in Ukraine. If we learn anything from this shocking situation, it is that we cannot be selective about who deserves support and whose rights we defend. Everyone deserve...
Leave it to Donald Trump to brazenly ask supporters to fund a new big boy toy rather than fixing his old plane. Days after a jet flying him to Florida was forced to make an emergency landing (following a fundraising speech, naturally), the former president’s Save America PAC sent an email blast to supporters boasting about his plans for “a BRAND NEW Trump Force One.” “Do you remember Trump Force One?” the email read (via Rolling Stone). “Before becoming the greatest President of all time, I traveled the Country in my plane, known as Trump Force One. I have a very important update on my plane but I need to trust that you won’t share it with anyone: my team is building a BRAND NEW Trump Force One.” According to The Hill, the email also included a GIF of a plane taking off with a poll gi...

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea joined Nick Cave and Warren Ellis on stage at their show at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
