KISS‘s concert at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida, which was originally scheduled for October 8, 2021 and was then postponed to November 5, 2021 “due to ongoing weather issues,” will finally take place on September 21, 2022. Big Thief drummer and producer James Krivchenia has announced a new experimental solo album. It’s called Blood Karaoke and it’s due out April 15 via Reading Group. He’s shared the lead single, “Emissaries of Creation,” which you can check out below. Krivchenia created Blood Karaoke by sampling unwatched YouTube videos found through random online generators. (The generators found clips of Microsoft Office PowerPoint presentations, video game walkthroughs, old local news clips, and more.) “It was a very iterative, long process, lots of editing and putting together little moments or 10 second chunks with lots of samples. The music was conceived to be a somewhat unbroken 40 minute long composition and I think of the singles as excerpts,” he said in a statement. Big Thief released their fifth a...

In a recent interview with TIDAL, Snoop Dogg went into detail as to how he plans to resurrect Death Row Records as its new CEO. He divulged how he came about the idea of the acquisition stating, “I’m looking at Death Row just depreciating. I’m watching how I’m putting Def Jam back in the light; they’re hot again. People talking about them, and artists signing. I’m like, shit — imagine what I could do with Death Row?…To be in control of the brand means that I got all of the pieces that I need to do what I got to do, from the masters to the publishing, to the IP, to the label, to the logo, to everything. It’s all mine. I’m able to move it around and do what I need to do with it.” Snoop has since secured Dr. Dre’s project and is planning on bringing Tupac‘s work back to the record label. Snoo...
Residente and J Balvin‘s feud, which initially involved hot dog comparisons, has evolved into a multi-layered back-and-forth event. It all started after the Colombian star called for a boycott of the Latin Grammys last September in response to what he perceived as lack of urban representation in the nominations. Residente quickly responded to Balvin saying, “It’s as if a hot dog cart got offended because he couldn’t earn a Michelin star […] your music is like a hotdog cart. Almost everybody likes it, but when those people want to eat well, they go to a Michelin-starred restaurant.” Since, the feud hadn’t made headlines. Until now. On March 3, the Puerto Rican artist dropped a nearly 10-minute diss track where he not only blasts Balvin but also the industry, including managers who take song...
