Kevin Morby announced his new album This Is A Photograph set to be released on May 13 via the label Dead Oceans. To accompany the album announcement, Morby also shared the album’s title track and accompanying video. In the title track, Morby sings in a spoken word fashion over a rustic guitar riff that crescendos into a funky breakdown. The video features vintage pictures from Morby’s life and family, flashing before the audience in a montage. Inspiration for this concept came from Morby flipping through a box of family photos in the basement of his Kansas City childhood home while his father was sick in the hospital. Rapper Jack Harlow is preparing to make his cinematic debut in 20th Century’s reboot of White Men Can’t Jump. Calmatic is directing the reboot with a script written by Blackish creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hall. This is a revived take on Ron Shelton’s 1992 sports comedy which starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as street basketball players who begin as enemies and are forced to partner up for a larger cause. Ukraine DAO raises over $6M via NFT sale to aid Ukrainian citizens
UkraineDAO, the decentralized autonomous organization created by Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova, Trippy Labs and PleasrDAO members, crowdfunded 2188 ETH, or $6.1 million, for a 1/1 Ukrainian flag NFT. Proceeds will go to nonprofit organizations in Ukraine that are helping those affected by the Russian invasion. The NFT sale was hosted as a PartyBid auction, allowing people to pool resources and bid collectively for fractionalized ownership of the digital Ukrainian flag.
