HYBE Revenue Jumps 58% to $1.1B in 2021 Following Ithaca Acquisition
HYBE, the home of BTS, blew past US $1 billion in revenue for the first time in 2021 thanks to the South Korean entertainment company’s acquisition of Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings. Formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment, HYBE posted revenue of $1.06 billion, up by 58% from 2020 and 114% greater than 2019. At the same time, operating profit lifted to $158 million, up 30.8% from the prior-year period. Ithaca Holdings helped HYBE’s album sales grow about 110% in 2021. Sales of HYBE’s Korean artists grew 18% to 15.1 million (in South Korea only). Disney+ Announces Streaming Date for Marvel Live-Action in U.S.
It was revealed earlier last month that Netflix will no longer stream Marvel‘s live-action series on its platform beginning on March 1, and those shows, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D, and The Punisher will be migrating to Disney+. While it was previously announced that those shows would initially only be made available for Canada, a new update reveals that Disney+ will make the content accessible for United States viewers starting March 16, joining its current Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye Marvel live-action series. Netflix Finally Delivers First Trailer for ‘Top Boy’ Season Two
The first official trailer of Netflix‘s Top Boy season two is finally here. The upcoming season will see the return of stars Ashley Walters, Kano, Little Simz, Michael Ward, Jolade Obasola, Jasmine Jobson, Hope Ikpoku Jr., Kadeem Ramsay, Saffron Hocking and Araloyin Oshunremi. Bungie Will Ban ‘Destiny 2’ Players Who Try To Run It on the Steam Deck
With some of the luckier gamers already receiving their Steam Deck from Valve, many have started trying out different games on the new handheld platform, but it seems like Sony‘s recent purchase Bungie isn’t too fond of the idea. Over on the game’s official help page, the developer explained that Destiny 2 is not supported on the Steam Deck’s Linux-based SteamOS, and it most likely never will given what the company said next. “Players who attempt to launch Destiny 2 on the Steam Deck through SteamOS or Proton will be unable to enter the game and will be returned to their game library after a short time,” it stated. “Players who attempt to bypass Destiny 2 incompatibility will be met with a game ban.” Bungie hasn’t explained why it has taken such a hostile approach to the game being pl...

‘Ghostwire: Tokyo’ Drops a Visual Novel ‘Prelude’ To Set Up the Game
Ahead of Ghostwire: Tokyo‘s release later this month, Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have now released a free-to-play Prelude that will set up the upcoming game. Now available, the short game will center around lead character KK, a detective investigating a series of strange events half a year before the time of the actual game itself. Feist has announced the US debut of her new live residency MULTITUDES. Spanning just nine dates, MULTITUDES will begin with two nights at Denver’s Buell Theatre on April 21st and 22nd. After that, she’ll play two-night stands in Los Angeles and Seattle, before wrapping up with a three-night stint at Stanford, California’s Memorial Auditorium in early May.
