SHINEDOWN Teases ‘Planet Zero’ Music Video

SHINEDOWN will release the official music video for its new single, “Planet Zero”, on Thursday, March 3. A short teaser for the clip is available below. “Planet Zero” is the title track of SHINEDOWN‘s seventh album, which will be released on April 22 via Atlantic Records. Vocalist Brent Smith stated about the new disc: “If we shut each other down and allow ourselves to be divided by the information we consume and the way we talk to each other, we lose our humanity. When you look outside of your phone, you’ll see there are so many people doing good things and trying to take care of each other. But we’re starting to see parts of society slip into an unknown. ‘Planet Zero’ was written for all of us. The fact is that we’re all h...

Patrick Stewart Seemingly Confirms His Return as Professor X in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’

Rumors of Patrick Stewart‘s return as Professor X hit the internet upon the release of the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer during the Super Bowl, and now it seems as though the X-Men staple has confirmed the rumors himself. The veteran actor spoke to Jake’s Takes in a recent interview and shared that he “actually didn’t recognize” his voice from the trailer. “I had my phone turned off as it happened, so I didn’t hear anything. It wasn’t until the next morning when I woke up and looked at my phone and found that I had been bombarded with responses. My PR people had sent me reactions that they had detailed and passed onto me,” Stewart said. “I actually didn’t recognize my own voice. It sounded different. Whether I had a cold or something at the time, I don’t know,” he add...

Kanye West to Release “Controlling Our Narrative” Conversation on Facebook

On February 6, Kanye West hosted “The Future Brunch” event with Hollywood Unlocked‘s Jason Lee. On the final day of Black History Month,  or what he calls Black Future Month, West shared that the conversation held for that event will be released for the public on March 1. According to Forbes, the event aimed to “help Black media reclaim their narratives” and “take ownership in one’s brand” with 50 journalists across different publications in attendance. “It’s something that seems so powerful and so calm about us just being together and us being connected, and this is a time we’re not going to back down and we not going to have people say you need to stop communicating cause you gonna look ramped up,” said West in the preview. “Tell me what y’all need let’s tell each other what we need...

xiv and biosphere Share Origins of New Song “BLASTOFF!” with koven wei: Exclusive

With Origins, artists get the chance to share insights on their latest release. Today, xiv and biosphere share the inspiration behind their collaboration with Toronto-based artist koven wei.  xiv and biosphere are getting intergalactic. Their joint project, Calamity (available to stream today, March 1st) is a 10-track journey that feels less like a cross between a concept album and an atmospheric mixtape, complete with star-crossed lovers and plenty of longing. Vocalist xiv and producer biosphere released track “On You” in October of 2021 before recruiting fellow Canadian up-and-coming artist koven wei for this next single. It’s no surprise that xiv mentions South Korean artist collective Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) as an influence — the extremely successful group has set the stage for...

The Boys Presents: Diabolical Offers Wild Superpowered Raunch As We Wait for Season 3 — Review

The Pitch: Animated spinoff anthologies for popular nerd properties are all the rage, it seems; hot off the back of Star Wars Visions a mere few months ago, Prime Video’s hit superhero satire The Boys gets one in the form of The Boys Presents: Diabolical. Taking inspiration, presumably, from their other blood-soaked comic book adaptation Invincible, here we’ve got eight distinct stories, with eight distinct animation styles, telling stories in and around the show’s world of corporate-sponsored (and created) superheroes, and the intestine-strewn trails they leave in their wake. Across eight Adult Swim-sized stories, the anthology peeks into the following tales of superpowered mayhem: Advertisement • A Tex Avery-style silent caper with a Vought scientist chasing down...

HAIM Share Paul Thomas Anderson-Directed Video for New Song “Lost Track”: Stream

We know this might come as a complete and utter shock, but HAIM have once again teamed up with Paul Thomas Anderson. This time, the Licorice Pizza director has helmed the music video for the indie pop band’s new song, “Lost Track.” Like Licorice Pizza, the “Lost Track” music video takes place in the San Fernando Valley of yesteryear. But while the coming-of-age drama was set in the ’70s, this clip imagines Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim as members of a preppy and posh ladies society in the ’50s. Shot on location in Southern California as part of HAIM’s recent cover shoot with W Magazine, the video looks just as good as it sounds. Sonically, “Lost Track” might feel as carefree as a day at the country club, but its lyrics center around melancholia. “I’ll never get back what I ...

Marvel’s Netflix Series Coming to Disney+ Under New Parental Controls

When news broke in February that Netflix’s live-action Marvel series would be moving to Disney+, one major concern was how the House of Mouse would handle the decidedly non-PG content of The Defenders franchise. Today (March 1st) Disney has answered that question by announcing a new update to parental controls that will go into effect when the shows hit the streamer on March 16th. When subscribers open Disney+ for the first time on or after March 16th, they will be offered the granular ability to select content ratings restrictions and create a PIN for each profile. According to a press release, any profile without the parental controls in place “will continue to enjoy Disney+ as they always have within a TV-14 content rating environment.” IMDb lists Daredevil, Jessica Jones...
