Prince’s Sign o’ the Times is returning to the big screen via Alamo Drafthouse this spring. The theater chain has announced that a 4K restored edition of the 1987 concert film will appear for a limited run in theaters nationwide beginning Friday, April 1. Shot mostly at Prince’s famed Paisley Park studios, the Sign o’ the Times film captures the band that toured in support of the record that year. It had a short original run and, like much of Prince’s material, had not always been easily accessible online. Sign o’ the Times got a “super deluxe” reissue in 2020, which included previously unreleased material from the late artist’s archives. HEALTH recently announced a 2022 tour that will see the band perform in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. As part of the tour, HEALTH were scheduled to perform in Russia on consecutive nights: April 29 at St. Petersburg’s Mod Club and April 30 at Moscow’s Aglomerat. The band has now canceled its concerts in Russia due to the country’s invasion of Ukraine. “Though we do not wish to penalize our fans for governmental decisions that are beyond their control, given the current state of affairs we will no longer be performing our previously scheduled shows in St. Petersburg and Moscow,” HEALTH wrote in a statement posted on social media. “Our thoughts go out to the people of Ukraine.” Green Day recently announced the cancellation of a Moscow concert due to the invasion. Netflix will ignore a Russian law, expected to go into effect March 1st, that requires media platforms to carry state propaganda channels. In a statement to Deadline, the streaming platform referenced the invasion of Ukraine, stating, “Given the current situation, we have no plans to add these channels to our service.” Netflix introduced a local-language service to Russia a little more than a year ago. As an “audiovisual service” with more than 100,000 users, it falls under the jurisdiction of Russia’s media watchdog Roskomnadzor. It would be obligated to avoid promoting “extremism,” whatever that means, while carrying Channel One, the entertainment network NTV, and a Russian Orthodox Church channel. Given Russia’s ongoing military campaign in Ukraine, it’s unclear if the media law wi...
Madonna’s latest endeavor includes directing a biopic about her own music career. But before the Queen of Pop gets her story to the silver screen, she has to find its star. Among the actresses who have auditioned for the role? Euphoria breakouts Sydney Sweeney and Barbie Ferreira — as well as Ozark’s Julia Garner. Jeff Sneider of The Ankler reports that Madonna’s biopic is one of the most coveted roles for young actresses in recent memory. Madge herself reportedly had her sights set on Florence Pugh, but considering how many other actresses have been through the auditioning process since then, we’re inclined to believe the Midsommar star might be “hung up” on other projects. Of course, to play a pop star as subversive as Madonna in her early career requires a bit of an edge....
Pamela Adlon wishes her toilet worked. Not the toilet in her home, but the toilet seen occasionally on screen in the home of her Better Things character, LA-based actor Sam Fox. “Only when we had that super toilet in that one episode, did it flush,” she tells Consequence. “But I want everything to work. It has to be authentic all the time — everything.” Authenticity is a key part of the FX comedy, which ends its five-season run later this spring. The series, created by and starring Adlon, chronicles the ups and downs of Sam’s world as she tries to provide the best life possible for her eccentric mother Phyllis (Celia Imrie), and her three daughters Max, Frankie, and Duke (Mikey Madison, Hannah Riley, and Olivia Edward), despite all the frustrations they might inspire. While many creators f...
For years, Kevin Malone’s chili has remained perhaps the most famous meal in The Office history, and now, you can bring the storied stew to your own kitchen. One eagle-eyed Office fan noticed that the recipe to “Kevin’s Famous Chili” is listed in the terms and conditions of the sitcom’s exclusive streaming home, Peacock, meaning any amateur chef can make it for themselves. TikTok user @mckenziefloyd took to the app to share the discovery, which she said her boyfriend noticed while perusing the Peacock app: “I’m trying to figure out why the chili from The Office, the recipe, is on here in the terms of conditions with the instructions,” Floyd laughs in the clip. “Why was that necessary to put on here? And then it just goes back to the regular terms and conditions.” If you’ll recall...

Yungblud is the latest music act to cancel concerts scheduled to take place in Russia after the country’s full-fledged attack on Ukraine last week. “I’m heartbroken to announce I will be cancelling my Russian shows scheduled for this summer,” the “Strawberry Lipstick” rocker shared via Twitter on Monday (Feb. 28). “Heartbroken because I know the vicious and brutal acts of the Russian regime in Ukraine over the past week do not reflect the attitudes and ideals of the beautiful people who I have met in Russia in the past!” Yungblud added a message to the Ukrainian people, writing, “My heart is with you – you’ve already shown such strength and determination, resisting this needless invasion. Everyone deserves to be the creator of their own destiny, rather than having it forced upon them by ac...
