2 Chainz has dropped a new music video for his Dope Don’t Sell Itself track “Kingpen Ghostwriter,” featuring Lil Baby. The song, titled “little story,” showcases Kehlani’s silky vocals cascaded over a relaxed acoustic guitar instrumental, balanced with a string arrangement. Netflix has shared the official trailer for The Andy Warhol Diaries, an upcoming six-part documentary that promises to chronicle “the remarkable life of Andy Warhol from the intimate vantage point offered by the artist’s own posthumously published diaries,” according to Netflix. The preview for the Ryan Murphy-produced series showcases how the project utilizes AI technology to recreate Warhol’s voice as a narrator for his diary entries. Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Deal Won’t Include 2Pac and Dr. Dre Albums: Report
It looks like three of the most definitive albums released on Death Row Records won’t be part of Snoop Dogg’s pending acquisition of his former label. Per Billboard, 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory “are no longer on the label,” while Dr. Dre’s The Chronic is slated to leave the catalog as early as 2023. More than two weeks after announcing the deal, Snoop Dogg is still negotiating for the label’s catalog with MNRK Music and its parent company Blackstone. In April 2021, MNRK Music acquired the Death Row catalog from previous owner Hasbro, which in turn had purchased the infamous label as part of a deal for its parent company Entertainment One (eOne) two years prior. A new show about the life of Jean-Michel Basquiat is in the early stages of development. Per Variety, Stephan James (If Beale Street Could Talk) will take on the role of the late revolutionary artist in the limited series. The currently untitled project will be set in the art world of 1980s New York City, where Basquiat started out as a street graffiti artist before eventually becoming a cultural icon and central figure of the neo-expressionist movement.
