‘Shang-Chi’ Star Simu Liu Joins Cast of Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ Movie
Simu Liu is set to officially join the cast of Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie‘s Barbie film. According to reports, the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star “is in negotiations” for an unspecified role. Liu will be starring alongside Robbie, who is portraying Barbie and producing, Ryan Gosling who is portraying Ken and America Ferrera. The plot is yet to be revealed. The Barbie movie is written by director Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, while Tom Ackerley of Robbie’s LuckyChap banner, Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner and Paddington’s David Heyman will all be producing. Just last week, Kanye West made a surprise appearance at a Los Angeles premiere for the Jeen-Yuhs Netflix documentary. The humorous ad plays with the idea of the canned water resembling a tall boy of beer, as a gang of kids proceed to go nuts as they pound the hydrating H2O. Some beer-commercial style close-ups of the spinning can drive home the parody, which ends with a pregnant mother sipping some Liquid Death herself.
