The furry feline cover star of Best Coast‘s 2010 debut Crazy For You, the beloved Snacks, who was the cat owned by band member Bethany Cosentino, has died. The ginger Snacks also graced the cover of Wavves’ King Of The Beach, and was most recently featured on the cover art for Best Coast’s newest single “Leading.” “I always knew this day would come, but I hoped it never would. Over the weekend, the Green Day frontman appealed for the return of his stolen ‘62 Chevy Nova, which has been in the family for decades. “This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the GD family for over 30 years,” he shared on Instagram Saturday (Feb. 5). A composer, professor and pioneer in electronic and electro-acoustic music, who helped develop the Synclavier, an early digital synthesizer, has died. Jon Appleton died Jan. 30 in White River Junction, Vt., at the age of 83, his son JJ Appleton said Wednesday. Spotify’s New Misinformation Policy Probed by New York Comptroller
Last month, amid a wave of artist boycotts, Spotify added content warnings to its COVID-19 content to quell anger at vaccine misinformation hosted on the platform. The tweak did little to satisfy critics, and the New York state comptroller is among them, according to a letter obtained by Reuters. In the letter, comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, who oversees pension funds in the state, urged Spotify to let users more easily report misinformation, and requested details on how the platform handles content rules and enforcement, according to Reuters.
