KORN‘s Ray Luzier has reflected on the passing of Joey Jordison, saying the founding SLIPKNOT drummer “had such good music in him.” Joey‘s family confirmed that he died “peacefully in his sleep” last July of an unspecified cause. KORN recruited Jordison in 2007 to join them on tour when drummer David Silveria went on hiatus from the band. Joey also appeared in the music video for KORN‘s single “Evolution”. Speaking to Gigwise, Luzier said that Jordison‘s death was difficult to process. “He had some demons, like a lot of people do, and I lost quite a few band friends, and people who I was quite close to in the music industry across the past two, three years,” the KORN drummer said. “It’s never easy. It’...

He said that walking into the movie theater was like walking into “Planet Of The Apes”. In Rogan‘s apology, he denied calling black people “apes” and insisted it “wasn’t a racist story, but it sounded terrible,” explaining he was “just trying to be entertaini...

“What should we do now?” someone asks off-mic at the end of Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You. “Blue Lightning,” the last song, has just ended, its homey folk-rock atmosphere made briefly uncanny by the entrance of cheap synthetic brass in the final minute, punching out a two-note fanfare that an ordinary band would have assigned to an actual horn section. The speaker—presumably one of the three men in Big Thief who orbit singer-guitarist Adrianne Lenker—sounds dazed but satisfied. Clearly, they have nailed the take. So what next? As punctuation for Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, an album as gleefully overstuffed as its title, this moment of studio chatter feels deliberate despite its offhandedness. In 20 songs, Big Thief have rambled far beyond the bounds of their prev...
